I'm not much of a blogger so I'll post my reply here.

I know what you mean in your rant and I can relate. My best advice is to distance yourself from having to deal with that mindset. There are a lot of strange ideas out there, and your best bet is to interact successfully where needed (as a business person acting out of your own motivation) without getting tangled up or becoming reliant on certain people or mindsets that are not your own.

That should keep you worry free
