Hi, I'm James. I'm so happy to find this thread because I'm full of questions.... but I am not allowed to ask any questions until I've posted 10 times. That said, I don't know much about copywriting, so I'm wondering why anyone would even want me to post 10 times in this forum right now.

Hopefully I can find some more threads like this one.... otherwise you guys are going to get stuck reading 9 more of my crappy posts.

Hi there... my name is Jason King and I'm new to the Copywriters Board. My interest in copywriting began around 2004, and so far my main influences have been Jay Abraham, Dan Kennedy, John Carlton and Gary Halbert. I look forward to learning with you all. Thanks.

Hey All,

I'm Evelyn Schwartz but my friends just call me Ev.

Anyway, I've been a student of this board for a few years now and I've quietly built a career as a copywriter.

You all have shown me who to study, what NOT to do, tips, tricks and have kept me from giving it all up on many occasions!

So hello to anyone reading this and a special What Up to Jason Moffatt (I love your posts!)

Ev

Hello!

My name is Chris and I've been a proposal writer in the D.C. area for about three years now. My main experience is with major grants and foundations. It's interesting work, but I exceeded my tolerance for being an employee long ago. I'm determined to make this job my last J.O.B. ever.

I came across Vin's name over at the AWAI board, and he praised this place, so I came to check it out. I just received the AWAI program last night, and while I'm extremely skeptical about it, I'm willing to give one of these "systems" a try if it'll help me bring in some extra cash on the side.

Speaking of "on the side," the reason I'm looking into "non-traditional" income sources is because I recently became a father. With mommy staying at home, and our home worth less than we paid for it, we're kind of stuck. I started one business to help with the bills already, and I'm about to expand it, but it's in a field that has little to do with writing. I want to keep honing my skills, and if possible, make them produce serious $$$.

I know that nobody's going to amass wealth overnight by buying a system, and I have no such illusions. One thing that impressed me about the veterans on the AWAI board, and in my initial lurking around here, is that they try to impress upon the noobs how this is a business, skill, and career like many others--you have to work hard at it, practice, fall from time to time, and keep learning. That's so unlike the usual b.s. you find with these systems that I am confident it can work.

Now, if I can only fin some time...

Look forward to learning from all of you!

Chris

Hi--Truck Bud's split personality here...

A helpful person PM'd me and suggested I not use a "handle" because before too long I'd be using the board for business purposes. I thought it was a good idea, so I'm using most of my real name now.

Cheers,
C.

Pharmacist/Stock Trader/Copywriter-in-Training

I'm one of those people who just have to write!

Here's the standard blurb.

I was the President of the Western Michigan Pharmacists Association, the Political Action Chair of that organization, and the District Chairman of the Political Action Committee of the Michigan Pharmacists Association.

I have been the spokesman for pharmacists in contract dealings with large area businesses, insurance companies, local government; and, have negotiated successfully with an HMO to provide prescription services from pharmacies in our area.

During that period I was elected President of Pharmco, Inc., a buying group that represented about fifty drug stores—independent pharmacies and small chains—located in the Western Michigan area. Total annual sales that went through Pharmco’s books were around 50 Million Dollars.

For seventeen years prior to coming to North Carolina I owned and managed South Shore Pharmacy in Holland, Michigan. The two former owners were unsuccessful at that location. I was able to make the business profitable during the first year. It remained profitable until I sold it to Walgreens before moving here.

I have been to Haiti on medical missions several times, am active on the Finance Committee at church; also, closely associated with with the Spanish outreach program. I work with people who need help budgeting. I am a member of American MENSA, an organization for gifted people.

I recently completed six months of clinical pharmacy training at Carolinas Healthcare system at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, NC.

That and two bucks will get you a cup of coffee.

Hope to learn lots.

Bob Diamond
