Default I Need to Thank This One Person Publicly - 03-11-2006, 01:26 PM

I just want to take this moment to acknowledge someone important in my life. I just re-released the new Version 2.0 of Copy Doctor. And after much trial and tribulation, especially with all the programming problems, I finally launched it without a hitch.

Throughout the process, I kept thinking about him.

I'm so happy that things are going smoothly. But through it all, there's one person who has contributed to my site, and to my success, who I need to take some time to show my appreciation publicly.

He's the one who's helped me during my trying times, and been there to lift me up when I needed the lift. During my recent divorce, and my sister's cancer, he sent me emails of support. He called me on the phone. He inspired me and moved me. And he's one heck of inspiration himself.

When my back went out (I have lower arthritis), as it does 3-4 times a year, I told him about it. He knew what it was -- and empathized. But the big surprise came when, one day shortly thereafter, I got a package in the mail. A special back brace that helped me so much (and still does).

He doesn't know this, or that I'm doing this. But this person was one of the first people (if not the first) who knew about my personal challenges two years ago and then last year. And I'll always remember what he said.

"I love you brother."

I also remember when I was dating Sylvie discreetly because of the pending divorce at the time, and when I introduced her to him, the first words that came out of his mouth were: "Welcome to the family."

Wow. I was, and still am, absolutely amazed by the thoughtfulness, gentleness and kindheartedness of this man.

He doesn't post on this forum much anymore because he's so darn busy. (And he should be! He's one smart cookie.) And I owe so much to him. He's a friend, a mentor, a confidante and a partner. I learned more from him than he thinks.

A fine copywriter himself, he deserves every bit of success. I recommended him in the past many times, and I still do. Now I'm doing it publicly on this board.

Thank you, Peter Stone.

If you haven't yet, please visit his website at www.PeterStoneCopy.com and his blog at www.peterstonecopy.com/blog ... Like I said, he doesn't know I'm doing this, and this is not an affiliate link or anything.

I just want to recognize how much he's appreciated.

"I love you, too, brother."

I'll quickly second that...

Peter was instrumental and still is (we just e-mailed each other a few days ago) in helping me see the clearer light...the better way.

My copywriting career owes a lot to him.

Thank you, Peter. You deserve the public recognition.

Beyond what words can express...thank you.

I'm just going to 'take this in' and enjoy the warmth, if you don't mind.

Peter Stone is an absolute saint.

Not only is he one of the best copywriters in the world, but
he is also one of the most thoughtful and caring people I know.

You may be suprised to learn that I've never actually met
Peter face to face. But I've chatted with him online, and
conversed with him via email, and he is a wonderful person.

If you're looking for a copywriter, hire Peter.

Difficult times are a true test of character.

It's a special thing when someone is "really there" during those times...

A rare and selfless act.

Michel... Glad to hear that you had a brother for support. You are a fortunate man.

And to you Peter Stone... Thanks for being an example.

Perhaps Baily said it best:
Quote:
I am grateful that Peter has a such close friend like YOU, Michel. What a blessing!!!
Barry: Your writing is so good... 'nuf said. (Barry scored big and is getting lots of attention, earned and deserved, from deep, deep pockets, on the many merits of his writing).

Jesse: Plainly and simply expressed, beginning to end, the toothbrush ad is a terrific piece of work. (As are so many of your ads).

Shaune: Thanks. Speaking of examples, I've been watching your marketing. It's solid, as I'm sure you know.

As solid and impressive as your writing skills are, demonstrated by the dramatic arc and logic structures, therein. Well done, Shaune.

Mike, you just plain rock, man. But we've already covered that during the course of email conversation. Here's something else 'from the heart'...

The new CopyDoctor membership site is beyond what any writer, or marketer should consider adding to their toolbox. They should join and be done with it, so they can get on with selling.

I guess what's so startling to me, is that it's a product from a guy who started with nothing--a life in deficit--and the result of you making a simple, but inspiring decision to live life on purpose...like you mean it. Instead of letting life happen to you which almost always renders a dismal and long-suffering outcome.

For those aspiring to sell, or to sell more of anything on the Internet, when asked, since there's no risk, I tell them the offering should represent a line in the sand: "Is you is, or is you ain't"... serious about your career. Consciously pick one side of the line to stand on, because by default, you're standing on one side of the line or the other, already.

No, Mike. You've really done it this time...

That site is the missing prescription, the closest thing to what's required for a positive marketing prognosis...a cure for anemic sales copy...an intervention between disjointed and sometimes agonizingly slow methods for acquiring the skills necessary for a bright financial future (in this business) and an in-context, streamlined and complete, everything-finally makes-sense learning environment, for those who want to sell on the Internet.

With your free trial offer, now's the time for those curious about 'the writer's life' and 'the Internet lifestyle', to explore, sit back and watch videos of a master, so they may know exactly how it's done.

Warm regards to Sylvie.

Peter
