Hey Jason,

I to prefer to surf on the smaller mac (with the glossy screen) - and do my copywriting stuff on the 17 inch Mac Pro - it's just easier having the bigger screen.

I've seen the Airbook in the Apple Store - but prefer the "bigger" models.

And I've disconnected "parallels" because - well - as you said - you're either using a Mac or a PC not both.

To me Macs are more reliable, a bit more fun, far less grief with viruses - and the clients think they are cool.

And with copywriting their are no compatibility problems using "Word for Mac" - it's a lot better than "Word" (and Macs let you send email attachments that are "windows friendly")

And Apple are now saying why not use the Safari browser for PC's, it's faster and again more reliable.

Now one thing you said that did stun me - you build your websites using a PC - isn't it easier using Macs?

Steve

I build most of my sites in XsitePro, which is why I use the PC for
website building.

I do have the Adobe CS3 package on my Macs, but need more
practice with Dreamweaver. Right now it just slows me down.

Yea people have told me Dreamweaver is brilliant - once you get used to it - but it must be easier using the software you know.

Anyway one day I'll get used to all the "tech" stuff - and make a website or two.

I must be the only person on this board who is NOT internet savvy.

Wow imagine making all the cash you could ever need on auto -pilot...

In the meantime could someone pass me the envelopes so I can stuff the promo's in them?

And don't forget the stamps.

If I get a move on - I'll just be in time to get everything in tonights post.

Not sure about that statement. I know Safari does not work well with 1shoppingcart check-out pages. It refuses to show the payment block, where the person enters their credit card number.

Jason's comments make the most sense. Different OS's are more appropriate for certain needs and individuals. Everything takes awhile to learn as Mr. Subtle said in his own, unique way.

My "day job" is insurance and most of the programs used for my agency are Windows-based. So who needs MAC?

A lot of people do. Because the MAC OS is smoother than Windows and it's definitely MUCH more secure from hackers, spammers, spyware, viruses, etc.

If I was getting a computer for somebody who just wanted to do some email, internet surfing, letters and some digital photo manipulation, I'd buy a MAC over a PC in a minute.

If you're a gamer, Windows offers a much better selection of games than MAC's do.

If you're a copywriter.....................who cares? Use what you're comfortable with and write, write, write!

I'm not, BUT I bought Team Fortress 2 when it was released a couple of weeks ago because I LOVED the toon style (instead of the realistic style most games have today). Now I can't stop playing it (it's an online fragfest game only).

I'm going to integrate them. I have a PC, my teenagers have macs since they do so much video editing. PC can't handle the level of graphics they do. The virus strikes are so seldom for macs. With the two systems, I'll have three screens. Two is just not enough lately.

I don't like the mouse that comes with a mac and I'll have to get a different one.
