Is it just me or has the forum become less active than like a year
ago or something?

Peace

It's slow but there are a lot of lurkers. We're too mean.

Doesn't seem that slow to me. This forum has never had anywhere near the traffic of the Warrior Forum, for instance, which is good because you can actually keep up with what's going on here. At the WF, threads can fall off the first page after a couple of hours -- it's kind of ridiculous.

Yeah, that's one of the things I love about this place... a quieter corner where there's still plenty of opinion to share!!

Yeah, I guess I have been watching the WF too much lately. It's really fast in there, like 3 pages of new threads in half a day

I don't think it's any slower than it's been in a while, but I do consider this a slow forum compared to others, not just the WF. I for one would be happier if it would pick up a little bit.

And the lurk/post ratio is ridiculous. It's like 10/1

WF is just too fast for me. I'm just not able to keep up with it while I'm working. I think CB moves at a great pace.

Don't forget, we also have two new forums than last year.

In addition to copywriting jobs, which causes a lot of people to lurk, the copywriting discussion forum has been split into two, with marketing, which splits the traffic in two from the main forum.

Also, we have banned three very prolific yet caustic and abrasive individuals, who posted a lot and created a lot of havoc on the forums.

In their defense, their posts did create a lot of traffic, and provoked a lot of controversy and conversation. But they also broke many rules, and caused a lot of people to leave and never return.

It might be a tad slow now but I like the pace here a lot. I appreciate that the din here isn't deafening and you can hear yourself think.

The nice spring weather is probably a factor too, at least for those of us northerners who had to endure the unusually harsh winter. I'm more inclined now to go outside when I need a copywriting break. Except right now I'm sitting outside with my laptop. Oops. At least I pried myself from the screen this morning and planted some grass seed.

Dang, I guess I'm in the minority here. I'll cut back on my posting to keep things at the pace you all like.
