Default Has anyone here bought this... - 12-08-2006, 11:38 AM

I was wondering if anyone here has bought Craig Garber's "Seductive Selling System"?

Reason I ask is because it goes up $100.00 at midnight.

I know Craig has written for Halbert and many other top dogs in copywriting, so he's gotta know what he's talking about.

I just have never really seen any of his swipes to know any better.

If you have it, let me know if it's any good.

If you're interested in seeing his salescopy for the system, it's right here.
(no, it's not an affiliate link and I don't owe him any favors).

Thanks!

I get and like Craig's daily rants, so when he piked his copywriting course I took a little time and read it.

What really bugged me...a lot...was his offer. It lacks verisimilitude. $66,642 worth of stuff for $897? Give me a frickin' break. It's like some guy telling me I can buy his 2006 Chevy Corvette Z06 (about the same price) for $897. Naturally a brain-dead NOOB would probably be getting a massive erection reading his offer.

Primo, women who are NOOBs to marketing are so much smarter than any male.

Hey Stephen,

I did buy that course. In my opinion, it falls far short of what was expected.

Basically, Craig lists out all 41 or so emotions that can be used in copy.. ie. empathy, greed, envy, pride etc.

He states in the first few pages that he would be giving specific examples of copy using each of these emotions. As you go through the main manual you find that he only does these actual copy examples for about 1/3 of the emotions.

Craig leaves much to be desired in terms of being able to actually implement these emotions in your copy. He basically suggests asking yourself to pick 2-3 emotions that you feel apply to those in your market, and to then start thinking about what stories/angles you could use that would push these emotional buttons.

One of my main criticisms is the vagueness that is constant recurrence in the course. Many times I was confused at some of the points he was making, and I feel he rushed through a lot of it, without giving much effort towards communicating clearly.

Also, the highly acclaimed "DVDs" were a major let down. He goes through all of ads without ever getting into the "how and why" at any level close to what was expected.

The biggest fruststration is not feeling that the course has made a single difference at all for me...perhaps just a better awareness of all the different emotions a human can experience.

Regards,
Cory

Hey Prouddad,

Nope, not from San Jose, I'm from NJ/NYC.
