Default How do I find out how long a visitor stays at my site for? - 12-07-2006, 01:22 PM

Hi guys I was wondering if there was a way to find out how long a visitor stays at my website for?

I want to know becuase I want to see whether my copy is pulling the people in enough and if not how I could change it.

Is there a way to do it via the cpanel of your website.

Any ideas guys would be a great help

Yours Tom H.

Go into your Cpanel and click on Web/FTP/Stats on your left-hand menu bar.

If nothing comes up, check with your hosting company to have it installed.

Of the stats packages provided in cPanel, AWStats will give you the best length-of-stay data.

Even so, it is only marginally helpful. It is not specific on a per-page basis, so if you have multiple pages on your site, you won't know which pages have long visits and which pages have short visits.

If you really want to know what's going on on your site, get hooked up with Google Analytics. It's free, and it will help paint a phenomenal picture for you, day-by-day, visitor-by-visitor, referrer-by-referrer, or by any number of other variables.
