Comedy Central has gotten some major, major mileage out of "Dave Chappelle's Lost Episodes" promotion.
Of course, none of the episodes were really lost.
But that's not the point. Comedy Central kept people interested in the Chappelle Show during their summer hiatus, when all they're showing are reruns.
Not an easy thing to do.
Brilliant move.
Anyway, that got me thinking about the different ways marketers can use the "Lost Episodes" technique.
For example, if you happen to be doing some copywriting for a furniture store, you could use "The Lost Inventory" technique.
Or, suppose you wrote an e-book a while ago and you've since added a few chapters.
You could use "The Lost Chapters" technique.
Those were just a couple of ideas off the top of my head.
But can you see the possibilities?
You're limited only by your imagination.
Anyone else want to throw some ideas into the pot?
