Not here to brag, but really just wanted to let some friends know that a great thing happened to me today.
Mike Morgan had whispered to me a few weeks ago that there was a chance that David Garfinkel was gonna hire me to write some copy for a big launch he's having.
I didn't tell many people about it because well, it wasn't a done deal. David never called and being in Hollywood I've seen many a deal fall apart in between the offer and the contract.
Anyway I was bursting... wanting to tell everyone, but couldn't do it until it was an actual deal.
Finally... I can breath.
David called today and made me a great offer I just couldn't refuse.
To think back in March I hadn't written more than a self-promo letter for Mike and Matt's apprentice contest, and here I am writing for David Garfinkel.
Gotta love this business!
Thanks Mike and Matt for everything. And thanks to my friends here for the support.
It's going to be a tough 6 weeks with lots of deadlines and rewrites, but it will all be worth it in the end.
Hopefully you'll write a sales letter as smooth, slippery and slick as the top of your head.
If I see a MEGAheadline, followed by a MEGAsubhead, followed by a 1/2 dozen testimonials and then a saluation followed by a DROPcap opening paragraph, I'm gonna open up a 55 gallon drum of CALIFORNIA whopazz on ya.
