Okay, Okay! You guys convinced me to restore the original thread. This experience has taught me a valuable lesson...DO NOT DELETE MY THREADS! Here it is:
Enjoy! What Are You Afraid Of?
Unfortunately, fear is a natural part of life. It is part of who we are.
It is part of being human. We may try to delude ourselves by denying our fears, thinking that, if we don't acknowledge them, they will simply go away, which is rarely the case.
No. The only way we can defeat fear is to face it head on. But who wants to face fear? It is so much easier to simply avoid and deny it, isn't it?
Look, whether we choose to admit or not, we're all afraid of something. And most of the time, we can trace those fears back to our childhood.
It's true. Most of our fears are fears we acquired as children, which sometimes may be discarded, once they are in full conscious awareness.
However, if we are unable to discard our fears when we enter adulthood, pyschological counseling may be required.
For example, I'm undergoing pyschological counseling for my "fear of failure," which dates back to my childhood.
Growing up, nothing I ever did was good enough for my father.
Nothing. As a result, I grew up with a huge chip on my shoulder, starving for acceptance... Always feeling the need to prove myself worthy...Always needing the spotlight and the proverbial "pat on the back."
I guess that's why I push myself so hard to succeed.
I'm so afraid to fail. So afraid I''ll hear my father calling to me from his grave with his patented "I told you so. I knew you wouldn't amount to nothing!"
Unfortunately, my fear of failure often manifests itself into sudden outbursts of anger. Psychologically speaking, I try to deny my fear of failure by switching instantaneously to anger.
According to my counselor, my reaction to fear is quite common.
People often deny their fears by switching to anger, addiction, depression, or other favorite aversions.
Since I don't drink, smoke or do drugs, It's only natural that I would use anger as an outlet to deny my fear of failure.
It's not something I'm proud of. But I'm fully aware of it, and it's something I'm working on very hard to control.
Obviously, my outburst this past weekend proves I'm not there yet.
But, I'll get there. Because I take my counseling every bit as serious as I take my marketing career.
Some people let their fear paralyze or disable them.
They let their fear prevent them from living life to the fullest. They allow their fear to consume them. They allow their fear to vanquish all of their hopes and dreams.
Not me. I refuse to go out like that.
I use my fear of failure as motivation to succeed...As a stepping stone to greatness.
Look, I just put myself "out there," in all of my naked glory for all the world to see.
It wasn't easy, but I did it.
Now I'm asking you to do the same thing.
Even though it was hard for me to lay myself bare, it made me feel better, when I did it.
It was actually sort of cathartic.
If we're truly a "family" here like Jason Moffatt says we are, then you won't leave another family member hanging, wiil you?
You'll share your fears with "the family," like I just did.
What are you afraid of? Snakes? Being overweight? Success? Failure? Alcoholism? Technology? The color purple?
Let's talk about it.
Talking about my fear helped me.
Who knows? Maybe talking about your fear will help you too!

According to this source, the fear of speaking in public (glossophobia) is one of the most prevalent phobias and affects as much as 75% of all people. When ranked among fears, it generally is the number one fear, even surpassing fear of death. I haven’t really figured out “what” my fears are… I don’t give it much thought. I know I’ve had fears while singing in front of hundreds of people in my earlier days when I attended church, but I did it anyway. I always do my best to face my demons head-on. Of course death is sometimes on my mind, but it is more of a “survival” thing and not a fear thing for me. I will say that some fears are “good” to have. Fears protects us. Whether it is protection from ridicule, rejection, pain (physical or emotional), injury, death, you name it… If we didn’t have fears, we would all be crashing our cars out of carelessness, jumping out of windows for the fun of it, and committing suicide the first time we broke up with our first love. I used to have a fear of making a total ass out of myself on Michel’s Copywriter’s Board, but it’s a little too late for that now… I’ve become quite immune in making ridiculous posts and just keep moving on. I have a strong suspicion that not many on this board will chime in on this thread. Most people have learned that if they expose themselves to someone they don’t trust, there is a darn good chance that their fears will be used against them in the future. And before I get blasted Dale, I’m not saying people don’t trust “you” personally… I mean to say that most people don’t trust others in general.

Haha!...
New fear Alert!
Having someone delete their original post after you've busted hump making a response... there should be a clinical name for this...
How about...
"Post-Posting Regret Syndrome"
or maybe
"Post-Postitus"
or
"Premature Post Submit" | | | | | Master

Hi,
with you permission I will escape the subject of fear for some perosnal reason, but who know some day when I will be ready I will share them with you.
However with your permision, I want to talk about something:
every line is important, believe me it is, each line is attached to his author, in each line a though, an idea, a mood, a past, a present and a futur, a writing moment.
I often say to my self "Hey boy what your post are to do with copywriting?".
and sometime I have this crazy damned desir of burning, I don't know why?
but then I say to my self:" perhaps someone will find some useful thing in my lines", and if one person find it, I will be happy.
if no one respond dosn't mean that post are useless.
I use to say :"it mean nothing to write, if there is no one to read", but believe me to have ONE Reader is enought to write, to know that your writing make happy some one, or help someone, or made the day of some is better then any thing.
sharing thougth and idea, is a personal gift from a person to others.
so to resume because I have to do:
Do it and Let go.
it is the intention, each post is a set of thougth, of feeling, of emotion of informations. The beginner.
(Time to take some actions)
