Default The art of listening - 08-31-2006, 05:58 PM

Success is a gift from others.

It is hard to make your ego behind the scene, it is hard to stay here and to listen, speak less ans listen more.

simple words sound true and people are to give in simple words, they are there , they are to give you their experience, their observation, their story, their living. and few are to take all this free gift.

Ego, Ego and Ego.

To listen you have to take time, and to take time you have to feel and to be convinced by the subtly of simple thing, to banish the word I, and to give in US.

Success is a kid smile.

some aren't to listen, they are proud to say , YES I KNOW, you know nothing, you know nothing, you know just your flashing selfish bull, those are so far from wisdom.

they forget that how savant they are , they are just human, and as human they will need to learn a last thing, a last wisdom of mortal human.

some are to give in listening snobisme, and those are from those that are to say I HAVE TO LISTEN, and I will choose the one to listen, they are to think in their intime illusion that they aren't to learn from any one, they quit their EGO salvation to go in their IDOL and Mentor salvation, Be FREE.

some are to listen and to hear nothing , they are the one to do thing in order to say I DO IT before, they are to to give in Complaisance.

Never Please your self.
Never Please other.
Be just transparent.

if you aren't ready to listen to salesman down the street, if you aren't ready to listen to kids, to mom , to worker, to the one who is ready to give you the gift of his wisdom you will never learn any thing , you will never weak up.

Egocentricity is the Marijuana of lonely soul.

listening need patient.

you have to be open mind and to believe in the good part of people before thinking of how bad they can be. give them the chance to give you the gift of their wisdom.and never go in precipitation, never go in judgement because you will be judged as you judge other, Be Free.

success is a gift from others.

Ego, Ego and Ego. you will find thousand reason to pass your way and to go in life, some are to be fast, some are to be busy, some are to be unique and as unique they can't be understand, give other the chance to come to you, give others the chance to say HI, give other a chance to ask about you, and go out this selfish bull, speak less.

open your mind, your soul , your heart and listen, you will find there a friend, a brother, a wife, a love.

Listing is just a living, and Egocentricity is the dead way of lonely soul.

The beginner.

Abdellah,

I taught a lesson about listening in my Professional Communications class today. Here is an excerpt I read from Effective Listening by Kevin J. Murphy:

"Hold the olives please! A seemingly simple suggestion from an American Airlines flight attendant to eliminate the seldom eaten olives from first class salads saved this carrier over $40,000 a year. In fact, American Airlines has achieved over $180 million in cost savings by tuning into the ideas and suggestions of their employees."

I always begin my effective listening lesson by reading this excerpt. It's amazing how much we can improve our business--the bottom line--by just listening to customers, clients, and employees.

Here's one of my favorite quotes. President Calvin Coolidge said it:
"No one ever listened himself out of a job."

Just thought I'd share. . . .

Deb
