Don't Let The Scam Locust Ruin Your Internet Experience
According the dictionary, locust are "any of numerous grasshoppers of the family Acrididae, often migrating in immense swarms that ruin and devour vegetation and crops."
Yeah, that sounds about right. That's what the scam locust do. The only difference is, they're trying to ruin the Internet.
This is our Internet! Yours and mine. Don't let the scam locust ruin your Internet experience.
How can you stop the scam locust?
Simple. Instead of falling for "too good to be true" get rich quick schemes, be smarter and more cautuious, before opening up your wallet.
Unless it's a known company or individual with solid credential, testimonials and references, check things out first. Check with the FTC, the BBB and whoever else you need to check with. But do check.
Also, if you receive an unsolicted offer via e-mail, delete it. It's spam and chances are, it'a also a scam.
If you receive phishing e-mails and you're unsure about their authenticity, remember this rule of thumb: legitimate companies will NEVER ask you for your personal information via an e-mail.
If you get an e-mail that asks you for your personal information, delete it.
Just be smarter about the way you conduct business on the Internet, and the scam locust will be forced to look for new territory.
