Default Developing the "right" mindset - 08-23-2006, 08:21 AM

Lately there has been much discussion on having the right "mindset" to catapult your career (and life) to new heights.

I would like some recommendations on something that has worked for you personally in this arena.

I know about books like "Think and Grow Rich" and other classics, but what I'm looking for is more along the lines of a specialized course that is very aggressive and will create a real "life-changing" experience.

I need something that is so "aggressive" that after going through such course, I will be "re-born" and even others around me will see a change in my behavior and way of thinking.

I do already know about the expensive seminars out there, but I'll be very frank with you, I am a very slow learner and might have to go back through a course to get a full grasp of everything I've learned and have "experienced" (something a three day seminar cannot do for me).

Is there "anything" out there that you know of that can do all this or am I asking too much?

My biggest problem with a post like this is that the folks who have changed their lives around using one of these recommended courses will probably not answer this thread...

and the ones who do answer this thread might be in the same boat as me.

I'm not looking for "suggestions", I'm looking for "testimonials".

Is there a "magic pill"?

I'd love to hear from you.

With all my respect, thanks!

PS - If you don't want to be open in this thread, please find the time to PM me... I'll listen!

PPS - If I decide to go with the recommendation and it works, I will be more than happy to share this with others in this forum... I love to help others "make it" in this life... this is one of my life goals - to make a change in other's lives.

Stephen:

I'm really not big on seminars, but I took the Dale Carnegie Course® many years ago, when I began my sales career. I truly believe that training helped shape me into the business person I am today.

Based on the philosophy that real growth and change take time, the Dale Carnegie Course® combines practice and solid principles with rigorous coaching, and continues to set the pace for all other self-development courses.

For people who are looking to become more successful at work and in their personal life, the Dale Carnegie Course® is a great place to start. It will help unlock hidden talents and build on existing skills and confidence. Participants will learn how to think and communicate more clearly, solve problems, and improve relationships. You will also find out how to take on new responsibilities, work under pressure, and motivate themselves and others.

Most people can learn about a given subject from reading and studying, yet they may be unable to put this knowledge into effective use. Their unique four-phase training cycle first imparts knowledge of key concepts to program participants, then encourages real-world implementation and practice of these concepts - for faster development of important skills. This consistent and practical application will result in a long-term, lasting impact that benefits not only participants, but the companies they work for as well.

Program materials include:

BOOKS:

How to Win Friends and Influence People
The classic Dale Carnegie® guide to improving communnication skills and interpersonal relationships.

The Quick and Easy Way of Effective Speaking
Offers basic fundamentals in presenting ideas effectively and with credibility.

How to Stop Worrying and Start Living
Practical suggestions on how to reduce stress and function more productively.

BOOKLETS:

The Golden Book
Speak More Effectively
Remembering Names
Meetings: Quicker and Better
Results
Live Enthusiastically

PLUS:

Participant Manual
Illustrates program ideals.

Progress Reports/Instructor Feedback
Written correspondence between the instructor and each participant offers valuable feedback during the program.

Hope this helps.

All the best,
Dale King

Hypnosis is another option.

Hey Steve -

Have you watched the video The Secret?

I don't know if it will transform you immediately, although
I know several people who say it did just that for them.

It will easily help you become more aware of the power of
your thoughts to create your experience and surroundings.

Armand rented a movie theater and showed it at his Freedom
Factor conference.

It's at

The Secret ::: Official Web Site of The Secret Movie

and you can either watch it online or purchase a DVD.

Abdellah - you may be interested as well. It's all about
The Law of Attraction that Michel mentioned on another
thread.

Best regards,

Leah B. Carson

Excellent!

Thank you Leah.

I'd almost forgotten about this one.

I believe John Ritskowitz gave me a link to download an ebook that this movie was based on...

I'll have to find it in my archives, but I'll definitely be watching "The Secret" video.

Thanks again!

John, hope you don't mind us using up some of your bandwith on this.

Thanks!

I'm sure you've probably already read it, but I think
Carlton's "Kick-Ass Copywriting Secrets Of A Marketing Rebel"
was the most motivating piece of work to get me into the
right mind set.

Actually, I believe I already had a similar mindset to John, but
just not the experience under my belt.

After reading that, I felt like I could sell anything to anybody.

Not only did I "feel" like I could sell, but I "WANTED" to go out
and make some sales right away. And guesss what? Make sales
is what I did.
