Not that I'm complaining whatsoever...

Michel's forum rocks!

But what would be really neat in this forum would be a "chat" feature.

Many of us here are on the forum at the same time and we rely on posts and PM's to speak to one another.

It would be a cool thing to be able to speak with one another in "realtime".

What do you think about this idea?

BTW - right now there are 18 viewers online.

Hey Stephen,

If it's chatting you want, why not enter your IM information as part of your profile so people can contact you via IM or Skype?

I had problems getting onto the gabbly... it kept refreshing and wouldn't let me in. I don't know if it's because my security setting are too high, or because of my firewall. Also, during the day I'm forced to use a lousy dialup with only around 42K (perhaps this is the problem).

I've downloaded Yahoo's IM, but it won't let me log in or connect (maybe it the same problems I've already described above.

I will try and get it set up on my home office computer this afternoon and see if it works there.

I've spent the majority of my life solving problems, so it's no biggy, just need to make the time to resolve these issues.

because Yahoo IM! should be working fine --

I'm on various IMs but I don't sign in most of the time because I am trying to concentrate on something and don't want to be interrupted. I have a hard time staying focussed. I have to be serious about eliminating distractions

or I'd never get anything done!!!!

A chat room might make more sense since it'd always be online whereas people come and go.

If Michel uses a cPanel host, there are 2 chat rooms which should be easily installed and could be run on his account 24/7.

I've also installed GTChat on several clients' accounts (it's a manual install) and have been really, really happy with it. It's easy to install and very light on the server. I think it'd meet our needs perfectly. Link: GT-chat - Home
