I received this in my e-mail this morning. Normally, I just delete these. However, I decided to share this one because as you can see from the address header, it was posted from a forum I frequent.

For those of you not familiar with the Nigerian Letter Scam, it's one of the longest running and most successful scams in history.

If you happen to get one of these e-mails, delete it immediately. There have been reports of people being murdered in association with this scam.

Hi my friend, please let me share a thought with you.

I always got the feeling that this emergent Scam,take some principle of copywriting to turn them into a bad way.

If we try to analyse deeply, such email we found :

1)Big promise.
2)some time proof, they chose name that (when google it) that point to a real event that happend.
3)story.
4)drama.

etc...

the redundant style and structure of sales letter, drive such thing, people are to believe that when you use Formated sales letter taking care off all copywriting rules, this will make result howevers the product is.

but they forget that : Copy Never Make the Product.

To resume, I think that copywriter have some moral responsability on this.

I agree with you my friend. In this particular scam, the con artists are preying on people's greed.

It's beyond me why people continually fall this nonsense. Unbelievable!
