Hi, Dale,

I've seen this before, and even now I still don't know what to make of it. Seems like it's either a pretty clever--if a bit ornery--parody, or a high-risk sales and name/e-mail capture campaign (that is, high risk of readers turning off and not responding). The Clickbank order page seems real enough, though.

I admit I've not sent in my $49.95, nor have I signed up for the free newsletter. It's amusing, but just off-kilter enough to keep me from committing even my e-mail address to the cause. Could be I'm just being too cautious...

Hello Jeff:

You're not being too cautious. You're listening to your instincts, which are correct in this instance.

This guy is trashing other Internet marketers, but not offering a shred of credible evidence why we should trust him.

The whole thing looks bogus to me. Where are his "real" testimonials?

Like my thread headline says, Don't Believe The Hype!

All the best,
Dale King

How do you tell if someone has a *real* testimonial?

Good question. Generally speaking, real testimonials have a way to contact the person providing the testimonial, to verify the testimonial is legit. This can be a website link an e-mail link, etc.

It's also a good idea to keep all original testimonials you receive on file, because sometimes the FTC does check to see if they are indeed real!

Michel, there are a ton of legitimate, successful companies with legitimate testimonials that don't have that seal.

Just like there are tons of legitimate, successful companies that don't have the BBB seal.

I was only pointing a potentially useful resource, not making a claim that it's required or of any significance.

It does look like a very good service for those who are in a niche that needs extra credibility.

Hi,

I think modestely that it is not about testemonial.

it begin with the speech , when the speech sound real and natural we are to believe the author (copywriter), and the testemonial are here to reinforce this.

But

When provocatif, when there is exageration, when copywriter make much , then no testemonial are to do something.

Trust is build inside the copy, in the style.

what ever is the establishement who garantie the validity of a testemonial there is some one to doubt. people are sceptik and they are right, it is thier money that they spend.

PS: Thank you my friend, I got the opportunity fellowing the link to read :

Sleep and grow rich.

The beginner.
