Just a quick note here, I've bought 1000s worth of hardware these past few years, I've been using www.newegg.com (much better than tigerdirect and others) ... they're terrific ... fast shipping and best prices around ... always much less, even with shipping, than bestbuy/compusa, and more reliable, in-stock with most things, than other vendors I've tried..

so, a thumbs-up for newegg (I just bought 7 more hard drives, a case, cpu fan, more memory, extra stuff today ...)...

anyone else have experience w/great vendors? w/newegg?

I have a quick question for you Ken -- How do you get your computer to show on two or three screens.

I saw a picture of your system somewhere and thought, "How Cool Is That?"

Do you use some sort of "splitter"?

My son turned us on to newegg.com.

He was a Best Buy Geek Squadder before he went into the Marines last Nov., and still got most of his personal hardware from newegg if that tells you anything.

To bad they don't sell body armor.

re multimonitor, I use a matrox agp parhelia for the main dell, and a matrox g400 dual head to drive the 2 side monitors..

I'm here in Colorado Springs, we're a military town ... pls say a big "Thanks!" to your son for serving and protecting .. hopefully we can stabilize things and get him and our other uniformed folks back safely asap.

I always make it a habit to regularly buy lunch for any military folks I see at local restaurants here if they're in their class b's if I'm eating there at the same time, eg "put their tab on mine", as a gesture of support. My best friend's a Marine (also named Ken).

I can say my one purchase from Tiger Direct was good one. It was an indirect purchase through Amazon so that may have something to do with it.

My son has used newegg several times with no problems. Since I am now in the market for a new motherboard for my daughter's computer I guess I'll check them out.

Don't know how I missed this thread - but I've been a big Newegg fan since I started building my own PC's a few years ago. With great prices and selection, fast shipping and fantastic service - I have a hard time buying anywhere else.
