Default Osama Called At The Wrong Time! - 09-27-2005, 01:53 PM

Osama, is a very common name in my culture, much like John and Jack.

One of my good friends whose name is Osama has a habit of calling at the worst times.

But this tops it.

I was going through security at Chicago airport and placed my cell phone in the trays along with my other belongings.

As I waited for it on the other side, the phone started ringing, and one of the security officers picks it up and sees "OSAMA" flashing on my screen.

He quickly looked at me, and I looked at him, simultaneously. He looked at the rest of his team, they looked at me, I looked at them. Heads turning, glances exchanging, eyes slowly inflating.

Then I smiled and said 'Don't worry, it's not who you think it is'

First time I saw an airport security unit all erupt into laughter at once!

Maybe Ill submit this to readers Digest to win some $$$.

Here's an interesting parallel thread on John Reese's forum:

I've opened myself a bit more, there. But it's interesting to see other people's perceptions. Including mine.

I say this: if people are prejudiced against your picture, then do you really wanna work with 'em anyways? But then I can get away with it because I'm fair-haired and blue-eyed and utterly gorgeous - wooo hah ha ha ha ha.

Seriously, I like to see a picture to have some idea of who I'm dealing with, and I would recommend it to all my clients. However, some people use really awful pictures that probably do work against them. The trick is to get a nice picture, and everyone can do that, even the OrangeBeast!

Sorry Alan - you are gorgeous really!
