Since I'm still stuck on dial-up (here in the boonies), I don't listen to streaming audio. I stick to my CD's.
I listen to a lot of stuff, mostly progressive rock (old and new), but since I recently bought an electric bass (getting back into it after many years) - I like to play along with CD's as a fun way to practice.
U2 is great for this (since the bass parts are relatively easy - plus I love the music) - Give me a couple of months and I'll be ready for Rush again...
I have also been listening to some jazz fusion, as I love the technical musicianship... some of it is too "mathematical" for my tastes, but occasionally a beautiful melody combined with the technical mastery inherent in this style is absolutely awesome. It's fun for me to try and figure out the complex rhythms and chord progressions (stretches my musicianship).
Here's some wild music (I particularly like the bass playing and drumming) from the site of a bass player who I think is an absolutely awesome player (Ric Fierabracci):
(warning: fast technical stuff - not a relaxing ballad - after all, it's entitled "Running From The Aliens"

)

I also like "Soul" (Marvin Gay, Barry White...) - or Funk, and even some Disco on occasion.
It all depends on my mood.
