I am going to attempt to prove (or disprove) the Power of the much renowned 'SECRET'.

This post will form the first part of my 'live experiment'.

So, here's the deal.

I am going to use the laws of attraction (whatever the heck that is) to draw to me a rich client who wants to offer me upfront lots of money in lieu of works completed (or at least a %) ok maybe after works completed, sold and distributed.

The work requested will be in the field of .....Anything a bit fun.
There may even be talk of a paper back (with pictures) book!

I shall give this experiment a fortnight, if after willing this person my way, I get no such offer, not even a sniff, we can bring this multi million £ SECRET LAW OF ATTRACTION balogny to it's knees.

Am I qualified to undertake this awesome mission you ask?

As a visualiser of extraordinary power (so says I) I am possibly the only person on the planet to effectively test this theory.

So, set your timer. I have two weeks to get a job without moving off my chair and using only the power of my minddddd.


Ps. If you would like to help me with this experiment, you can do so by visualising me driving a Porsche while admiring my diamond studded hair slide in my drivers mirror.

Your experiment is not falsifiable, is subject to confirmation bias and not well enough defined to prove or disprove anything.

But if in two weeks you end up driving a Porsche and admiring your diamond studded hair in your rearview mirror, I'm sure you'll have the makings of new bestseller. I might even buy it.

Man, I wish I had that kind of time on my hands.

Well, the porsche is not part of the 'package' that I am visualising re two weeks, it's more what I'll be doing with proceeds few months hence.

Meanwhile, you have given me an idea.

'Top 10 who's who of Lifes biggest failures'.

I wonder if its been done already, the details of people who failed 'BIG'. People love reading about other peoples failures.

Okay, I'm on of those naive people who believes in LOA. I belong to the Prosperity Partnership Program and I have a lot of respect for the woman who runs it, Elyse Hope Killoran.

I"m making some changes to it today, but the story part won't change.

It's not quite the hogwash "The Secret" might have you believe. There's better stuff out there about LOA, especially the stuff by Esther and Jerry Hicks.

So, Leah, I'll be expecting you to post a photo of you in your Porsche very soon.

I am female, therefore I can visualise and think while I do other things.

Presently for example: I have kids tea on, am about to vaccum and have just got some gloss paint out ready to repaint all woodwork in the house. It is 5.45pm here in the Uk. This should keep me busy till midnight.

I wouldn't mind if the whole secret idea wasn't a great big giant rip off of a book called 'Bring out the magic in your mind' by Al Koran. Now out of print it was first printed around 1960 ish.

There is nothing new about the secret or LOA, it's just a giant money spinner. Yes visualisation techniques can work but heck it's all in Al's book. A darn sight cheaper than any other 'course', book I've seen since!

Hmmm...

Well ... in my own mind, at least, I'm proof of the validity of the Law of Attraction (for want of a more widely-recognized term).

As this is a 'public' forum (and anyone doing a search on my name might come across this), I won't list the details, here, of the 'events' that have me so convinced.

But two of the people who are very "instrumental" in my life, right now - Harlan K. and Troy White - are there because of that factor (again ... as far as I'm concerned).

But I'm not a fan, at all, of "The Secret" or the bandwagon panel of proponents it pulls along (or who pull it along).

Nor am I familiar with Al Koran or "Bring Out The Magic In Your Mind"...

But I am intimately familiar with "The Science of Getting Rich" ... written around 1911 (I believe) by Wallace Wattles and available as a free download from several sites.

It just pulled together and fleshed-out so many elements that I began discovering and/or formulating for myself in my early 20s (some 1/4 century ago *grin*) ... but, unfortunately, lost touch with in the intervening years.

When I read Wattles' book, it all came flooding back ... but whole, now ... and in a seemingly practical, useable form.

Still ... I wasn't exactly "sold".

But I decided there was no harm in "trying" what he taught.

Have "all my dreams come true" because of this Law of Attraction stuff?

Hardly ... or I'd not likely be hangin' 'round this forum. (Hey ... no offence, anyone!)

But things are rolling along at a clip unlike anything I've experienced in many, many years. And in many areas of my life: financial, career, emotional, intellectual...

So ... although I hardly expect to "convince" yourself ... or anyone at all, really ... I'm using it ... and I'm profiting from it.

I truly hope you will, too. But it doesn't sound like you'll be going about it the right way, with the right mindset ... so I wouldn't hold my breath, if I were you.

Here's hoping you'll prove it's validity to yourself, Fossil! But, as for "disproving" it...

If you never see a snake, you might not believe they exist...

But I know better.

You've misunderstood me, possibly due to the humor/sarcasm in my post, which by the way isn't all it appears.

In terms of magic in the mind, I am accutely aware of the power of visualisation. I have used it many times. I braved an operation without a general anaesthetic using the techniques. I had three operations in one day (unique apparantly) as the first two went wrong. The first was under general, but then I ate, so the second (emergency) was while I was conscious. I don't recall any pain, just mild discomfort. The medical team were fairly amazed. This said, the techniques were nowhere to be seen when giving birth first time round!

As a kid my day dreams would come true, the good and the ugly. I am now very careful what I wish for. In fact, mind magic, telepathy, the paranormal,
and all things that go bump in the night is something I could write a very interesting book about, but I doubt anyone would beleive it.

Back to the topic on hand, I know that for wish fulfillment in terms of success to come true you have to be very specific about what you want. Up until very recently I did not know specifically what I wanted in terms of career progression. I have too many balls in the air. I am not money driven, so do not wish for riches (despite my post) but I do have a dream, and I set to work on forcusing on it yesterday.

Curiously wheels are actually now in motion, as of late last night, so I may have good news to report when my fortnight is up.

As for your humour ... yes, I did catch it. I'm a BIG fan of Brit' comedy ... and its tendency to often reside "just beneath the surface".

And I enjoy the humour that resides both above and beneath the surface of most of your posts (that I've read) ... so no worry, there.

Last night's diatribe (mine, that is) was mostly due to last night's mood, I guess. (*grin*)

With regard to my own attempts at harnessing the power of "L of A" ... I'm still working on it.

I look back, now, on a huge block of many "negative" years in my life ... and I see that "Attraction" was a MAJOR force at work. All my energy ... all my emotion ... was focused on "what could go wrong". It was the novellist's "what if" technique applied in a downward spiral, instead of upward ... and to my own life, rather than just a story.

So the big challenge for me ... and most other people I've discussed L of A with ... is to harness the INTENSITY of visualisation, and emotion, to the good things I want ... rather than the bad things I don't.

... and it's working.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Leah. (Well ... not physically, of course ... but I'll VISUALISE them being crossed for you!)
