Exclamation eBook technical help please - 04-01-2008, 07:14 AM

Hello

More techno help required please

I finally managed to make a small pdf eBook, zip it and publish to server :
Index of / (item 3 in list)

but

How do I go from this to having a nice little download button on my other websites re this?

Thanks

Leah

Update: I have added it to my website with note saying download HERE, and the word HERE leads to the server link, is that adequate or is there a way I can get a link direct to the specified file?

Hi,

just use a basic <a> in your html.

<a href="url of the file" target="blank"><img src="path to the button pic" /></a>

hope that it help.

The beginner.

Hi Ab

Thanks for the help, but it doesn't help, I have no clue what any of the above means, sorry! This has been my problem all along.

I'm not writing html (wouldn't know how) so can't add anything anywhere, would not know where to begin. All I want is link to specific file as soon there will be more files on that page.

Hi,

Say that your book is mybook.zip and it is on your www.mynicewebiste.com website.
Then you can link to it using the following html tag
<a href="http://www.mynicewebsite.com/mybook.zip">Here is my splendid book</a>

Is that the info you were looking for?

cheers
Tony
