Default is 400 sales of a $7 report a good first day? - 02-20-2008, 09:59 AM

Friends,

We got 402 sales of our $7 report The Guerrilla Balance Sheet http://bethelegend.com/7dollars in the first 24 hours. We wanted more...

NOTE TO SELF: If ever I hear myself say, "Well, this community site software appears to have all the bugs worked out." FIND NEAREST HAMMER AND HIT MYSELF because that kind of self-talk is dangerous!

Launch Formula Marketing went smoother than when I used Butterfly Marketing, but dang these sites require constant programming and trouble shooting.

Yesterday, when PayPal went down... for EVERYBODY, we thought we were screwed because 68% of our $7 buyers are buying with PayPal.

And, we did see sales go down while PayPal went down. However, the bigger problem was that some of our buyers weren't getting credited as having paid and so they weren't getting their $7 report in their document folder. In fact, after PayPal went back up we were flooded with help-tickets because LFM stopped speaking with Authorize-dot-net, but we couldn't see that this was an Authorize problem, and since PayPal had been down for everybody, at first we assumed the problem was with them.

So the better part of the afternoon was responding to help-tickets and trouble-shooting and putting out fires.

NOTE TO SELF: Hire a smart and quick administrative assistant to work launch day and have him/her around for customer communications.

Of course the day started with a bang. I mailed to a list of mine to get some volume and test the shopping carts and make sure a group of folks flow through the system smoothly. Well, A bunch of affiliates saw this email and decided to mail.

NOTE TO SELF: When organizing a launch, tell the affiliates not to launch until we say go, TO THEM!

Before we flipped the switch, too many people mailed and we had a mirror site running the opt-in video which wasn't on the primary server with MASSIVE bandwidth and so we exceeded our bandwidth and this lock-up meant we couldn't as easily flip the switch.

All and all, we were only closed for business 23 minutes, and that was before we green-lighted everybody. Our goal was to sell 1,000 $7 reports and we sold 400.

Yesterday, from click to sale... we had a 6.7% sales system.

Michael Morgan's sales letter is converting at 22% from folks that squeezed through. We have an average 30% opt-in rate... 31% without a video and 28% with a video.

Guess all my pride for the video was misplaced.

At the end of our first day, it was the strength of a great sales letter written by a true master that made us have the successes we did enjoy.

Thank you Michael Morgan.

All depends on what it leads to.

It's all in the backend.

Sweet lord that's some awesome copy.

I bookmarked it and I will study it in detail. Thank you very much for sharing the background story.

Regards, George

P.S. You mentioned something about affiliates. Where do I sign up for that?

I sincerely appreciate the comments here and the private messages. I am grateful for all your support. Yes, these are revolutionary ideas in this report... thank you for noticing.
And, once somebody gets into the system they are seeing this 5 minute video you guys helped me with last week...=> => 5 minute Jay Conrad Levinson Video=> http://www.febene.com/meetjay.php

We've had a total of 2 refund requests, now with over 500 copies sold, and one of them was because of the tech problems. So, we're excited by how well this report is being received.

Michael
, thank you for bringing up the back-end. You bet, the back end is critical. Yes, that's where all the money is being made. And, there is a particular type of back end that pays you never ending profits. I hope you'll read the $7 report and learn about FeBeNe, the simple 3-step process to never ending profits. The 5 minute video above is a teaser for the first back-end sale. Tellman Knudson thinks we're idiots for not having a $97 upsell on the first $7 sale. What do you think of our sales system Michael?

GEORGE,
Yes, Million Dollar Mike writes some sweet copy. Sweet, profitable copy that is certainly worth bookmarking and copying into your swipe file...

Thank you Michael Morgan.
Thanks for the kudos.

Now that the new squeezepage I wrote is being tested (the first one wasn't mine) I think that not only will the opt-in percentage increase nicely... the conversion will too.

I'm finishing off the copy for the back-end now. I hope it does at least 10% of what the salesletter for the $7 report did!

Cheers,

Mike

after 72 hours => Total Sales: 1354

Michael, your opt-in is testing dead-even with our static opt-in page. Your sales are astronomical. What's sweet is seeing Shawn Casey make 232 sales with a single email because your sales page is converting better than a priest at a truck stop.

Well, after reading the copy, I went on to discover what else Mike has written. Somehow about 10 minutes later I found myself in his mailing list and today I received this wonderful e-mail sending me to the very sales letter I read in the first place.

*scratches head*

Now to continue my way forward in this backwards journey, I'd really love a link to the squeeze page.

Regards, George

P.S. I tried a fake e-mail and 2 disposable e-mail services before giving out my primary one. You've got one hell of a tight ship there Mike.

P.P.S. Somehow when I clicked the "Fork Over the Swipe" button, I felt like clicking a "Fork Over the E-mail Address" button and realizing this, it made me feel better. I'm sure that there is a copywriting lesson in all this.

400 sales at $9.99 would've been a whole lot better.

In my testing I've found $7 is NOT a magical number and the higher price often gets just as high or even higher response.

400 sales at $19.99 would be better still.

I'm glad you had a good launch though and I'm very familiar with every one of the problems you mention.

You had it pretty easy though.

In one launch within 24 hours I had:

1. Paypal go down completely.

2. Paypal's IPN go down.

3. Aweber go down.

4. My own internet service go down (so I had to go down to the local supermarket to get access to the internet.

Most people would complain about these things but you know I've had traditional brick and mortar businesses and this was a walk in the park in comparison.

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh
