Peggy,
I gotta tell ya girl...

I don't know you personally, but have a lot of r.e.s.p.e.c.t. for you!

Folks... this is what you call moving forward and taking "immediate" action.

Heck, I'll bet there are people here on this board who would take six months to a year before coming up with a 26 page report.

I wish you the best of success!

Also kudos to Marcia Yudkin for creating this thread... excellent information, all the way around.

Warm regards,

Stephen Davies

This is a nice post.

For the complete beginner a combination of 1 and 2 may be the easiest of all.

Get 3 or 4 questions the prospects in your niche might ask then email the leaders in your niche and ask them if they'd be kind enough to answer them for you.

As long as the questions and the replies required aren't too long you should have a good chance of getting a response.

Then you just compile the answers into a pdf report with each contributors affiliate link underneath.

You can give it away free or better sell it at a low price and give 100% commission to anyone who sends you sales.

You get the contact details of your buyers, most of your contributors should promote the report and you should also pick up a ton of affiliates when they find out you're giving away 100% commissions.

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh

Andrew,

I do not recommend this. Asking more than one question will drastically cut down on the willingness of the "leaders" to reply. (I know this from both sides of the question.) It will also diffuse the focus of the report for customers.

Simple works.

Yes you're right...although I've done it with some leading marketers and had success.

But I think the key there is that I had a relationship with those marketers.

Your chances will be much higher going for one really solid question.

One other thing that's not mentioned here is to think about your information marketing strategy.

When you create info products...even simple ones...you want to think of your sales funnel...creating a series of products that you can sell at progressively higher prices.

For a newbie they might think of creating at least 2 products at the same time...a basic and a more deluxe product to sell to people who buy the basic product.

That gives you a whole range of extra marketing strategies you can use.

And in some cases it can be as simple as saying to an expert "can we do this interview in 2 parts?"

First part is for the basic product, second part is for the deluxe product.

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh

My question for you folks who have created and sold ebooks is this:

How do you protect your rights? Do you go get it copywrited? Is there cost involved in that? When people say, "self-published", what exactly does that mean?

I have an ebook I have written but have gotten sidetracted with those questions.

Thanks for any responses.

Dave

I was aware of most of those methods including making an info product from expert opinions but I must say i'm finding it really difficult to source experts with the niche i'm writing my info product for (small cafe and sandwich bar owners).

Great post though

Just make your own experts. Whoever you interview becomes the expert by the simple fact that you present them that way.
