I've come to that realization too!
I believe that anyone has the ability to do otherwise, but it would take some personal development, a little risk (perceived from the employee), and a little more. I find that most people don't really want to be their own boss.
I'm always surprised how many people I run across who had quit their job, started their own successful business that was just getting to the point of fruition, and then they quit it and go back to being an employee.
It seems to me that most people's mindset is set on being an employee.
I think it's funny that people see being an entrepreneur as being risky, but as being an employee as safe. If anything, I've seen the opposite to be true.
