I have a slight bone to pick with the "no domains with dashes, and only .com" thing that John Reese touts that everyone seems to grab ahold of.

I'll use that as blog fodder some time in the future, though... gotta run.

Hey Daiv, as you can tell from my domain name, I agree with you that the "dashless domain name rule" isn't necessarily right. I have both versions for my domain name and use a redirect from the dashless one. I like the way dashes make it easier to read, and I think separating the words with dashes makes it more search-engine friendly (not sure if that's still valid, though).

re dashes, that's been my strategy independent of what anyone else says, and has been for years... I think the no-dash domain names have more credibility..

when I've tested PPC ad campaigns sending to dashed vs non-dashed versions, the non dashed outpulled re clickthroughs by roughly 71% compared to the dashed version. Didn't track sales difference, though should have. It's something for further research/testing..
