Exclamation A Vision Of Success - 12-05-2006, 08:52 AM

A Vision Of Success

Want to be successful in whatever it is you choose to do? Then you need to be totally focused.

In essence, you need to develop a sort of "tunnel vision."

What's tunnel vision?

Technically, there are two definitions - one negative and one positive.

However, for the purposes of this article, we'll focus only on the positive definition.

"Tunnel vision is the ability to focus only on what is crucial and relevant to solving a particular problem. In other words, it's the ability to ignore a distracting lack of knowledge while learning just enough to solve a problem."

Developing tunnel vision will enable you focus better. And "lack of focus" is the main reason why most people don't succeed. They don't have the tunnel vision that's required for success - that ability to block out everything on the peripheral and focus only on what's directly in front of them.

I want you to commit this analogy I coined to memory:

"Your level of success will be in direct correlation to your focus. The more focused you are, the greater your level of success!"

Here's an example to illustrate my point:

Most people think it's Tiger Wood's amazing talent that sets him apart from the other golfers in the world. And make no mistake, his talent does play a significant role in his success. But what really makes Tiger special is his tunnel vision - his focus. He's famous for it. He's totally focused on winning every time he steps on the golf course - and as we all know, he usually does.

It's also no secret that Tiger practices longer and harder than just about anyone else in golf - but that's a by-product that automatically comes with tunnel vision. When you're totally focused on what's directly in front of you - the task at hand, if you will, you will do whatever you have to do to succeed.

Now after reading this article, I'm sure many of you are wondering, how do you go about getting properly focused for success?

The very first thing I recommend is a complete re- programming of your mind.

Why? Because before you can start walking down that road to success, you first have to get your mind right.

In that regard, there are three books I consider absolute MUST reads, if you are at all serious about being successful in whatever it is you choose to do.

The books are, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, The Magic of Thinking Big by Dr. David Schwartz and Psycho Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz.

Your local book store or Amazon.com should have all three books, since they're all-time classics.

Get those books and remember my analogy: "Your level of success will be in direct correlation to your focus. The more focused you are, the greater your level of success!"

Hi Dale:

That's a great article. Very well written, thank you. Mind if I ask you a personal question? I was browsing a few of your threads (very impressive, I might add) and I was wondering, what's the secret to you being able to crank out so many good articles so fast? I write articles too, but it takes me a couple of weeks to write just one. I would like to write more articles like you do. How do I do it? Thanks.

Chris

Great stuff, Dale, but I've only been on this site a few days, could you not read my mind?
BTW I would mind seeing what you wrote to Chris if there's no secret handshake involved.

Thanks, BuddyT!

It just so happens that Chris is in my Mentoring Program, so I gave him detailed information about article marketing that only my clients are privy to.

What I can tell you is this:

Writing one article won't do you any good. You have to write a bunch of articles to realize the benefits of better search engine rankings and increased traffic.

I've written nearly 200 articles in only a few months...but to write that many articles requires extreme discipline and focus.

Don't start writing articles, unless you have the discipline to keep it up.

Article marketing is hard work, but the rewards are tremendous!
