PS - I've received some questions via Private Message and I thought I would post some of the answers here, in case you have the same questions. I'm not sure I should be so forthcoming, but that's just the way I am I guess....

Q: Is this going to be a "pitch fest"?

A: It will not be a pitch fest.

Q: Then why are we doing this?

A: We are doing this for two reasons. The first is that there's an affiliate commission we could earn down the road. During the last few minutes (it will be brief), we will mention a site to go to. A recommendation, not a "pitch fest" or a "hard sell." Also, whether we earn any commissions or not, we get increased credibility... from other people speaking well of us (hopefully) or from others perceiving us as experts.

So that's the story. The call will be full of content. The recommendation will be brief. You can even hang up before we mention the site if you want. Check out the main web site for full details.

Ryan,

I'll probably check out the call -- although I'm not pursuing a "copywriting career" -- However, what I do much of the time includes copywriting for my clients -- as part of a larger deal.

I especially like this part of your letter...

Well... I think it's true. And, I think it's also important to take the "mystique" out of copywriting. Don't get me wrong -- I think it's one of the most powerful, important (and respectable) skills anyone can possess.

That's why I hang out on this board.

But, I also think it's important to put into perspective what we're talking about here... and for the guy or gal who wants to make that their career / business, etc.

The speaking business is the same -- you don't have to be EXCEPTIONAL to make it as a professional speaker (I know I'll make a few people mad with that one). Marketing your talents is FAR MORE important and vital to success.

One qualification I would put on your statement in your letter... You have to be AT LEAST BETTER than whoever's writing for those people. Not just better than those people.

Make sense?

In other words, if a market -- take plumbers as an example, since you used that in your letter -- if plumbers were being "worked" heavily by copywriters, then you'd have to be better than the copywriters writing for YOUR CLIENT's competitors.

For what it's worth, I personally vouch for each and every one of these folks. They know their stuff, and have proven results that I've seen.

A lot of them have learned from Dr. Harlan Kilstein, among others as I have, and it shows. Personally, I will be on this call for sure. Hope you all can make it!

BTW, this is the first I've heard of this call, and I just felt I should post a note about it,. I have nothing to do with this call whatsoever (other than attending myself, that is).

JP - Good observations. If you're not as good as the other copywriters in a particular market, you could probably still get the client, but you might not last long if your letters are struggling to perform.

Wow! I just read their "sales" letter today. I actually signed up for the call without even reading it, just because of who is presenting it, and because I was in a hurry. But I have to say not only is the sales letter very well written, it also highlights some things I'd like to know. I'm doing well, but I'm always on the lookout for new ideas. These guys are the ones to the deliver the goods, and I'm EXTREMELY looking forward to their call, especially after reading the great stuff they are going to reveal. If I learn just one thing from this call, it's worth it to me.

And I would gladly pay $100 or more to attend, although free is certainly better. Very generous of them.

Even you grizzled veterans could probably pick up a new idea or two from these new and proven pros.
