"Here Are Twenty One Ways To Increase The Selling Power Of Your Sales Letter Right Now (yes Right now!) Part1"

Here is a quick fire list of techniques you can apply right now to increase the selling power of your current sales letter.

Lets begin..

The 1st thing is to: Always use present tense in your copy, unless there is a definite reason not to. Writing in present tense gives your copy that "bar room" one on one conversation feel that you're aiming for, an example of this is like saying;

"A lady will feel well dressed in a Chanel dress,

When you should be saying....

YOU will feel great dressed in a Chanel dress...


You following me here? Here is another example, don't say...

"People will enjoy a sense of security when they use good year tires,

Say instead...

"YOU will enjoy a good sense of security when you use good year tires,

Understand? Good! You must keep hammering at the reader with YOU YOU YOU YOU it's your prospects favorite word they love it! Can't get enough ---its second only to the ultimate favorite word.. "FREE" Of course.

Technique no.2
Use subheads

These enable your reader to skim right through your sales letter, and this is for people who don't have time to read your entire advertisement. Subheads get copy read, that might otherwise just be skipped over, think of headlines as like little zombie hands that reach out through your sales letter, and grab your prospects by the eyeballs and pull them through your sales letter line by line...
Alright example time.

Here is the headline and subheads to a muscle building product sales letter.

Headline Who Else Would Like To Discover The 100% No Bull**** Truth Of How To Build Muscle Fast?

Subhead no.1 New York weightlifting champs reveals all his secrets

Subhead no.2 Why most of the advice about weight training is pure garbage.

Subhead no.3 What most people are doing wrong trying to build muscle mass!

Subhead 4. Send $1.00 for booklet, "New body for you"

You'll notice that every sub headline reads like a headline in itself, this is precisely the effect you want to have with your entire sub headlines, you want them all to read like a story.
Moving on now ..

Technique no. 3.
Use a simple style of writing

The simpler and easier your sales letter is to read the better! As that means more customers will read it, and that means ultimately more people will buy. Fine writing is a real disadvantage in writing ad copy so avoid it at all costs.

All you want to do is to get your message across as effectively as possible you DON'T want Shakespeare.

The most important job of your sales letter is to put the prospects full attention on your product and NONE of it on the technique used to present it. So choose short simple words to get your message across, educated readers understand short words just as well as non educated ones and they will also appreciate the time you will save them by just using simple words. Don't expect your prospect to go and get a dictionary to look up any word you write in your letter, the minute you make them even so much as stumble! On a word, you've lost them for ever...

Technique no. 4
Give free information!

A sure way to arouse interest is to give free information away, as sales talk in your copy. In doing this you draw the reader into your letter and you also make them think... Geese hold on a minute if this is what kind of info/tips he's giving away, imagine how good the product must be! You see?
To use this technique properly you must arrange your sales letter so that the free information comes first and then the sales pitch second, because if the sales pitch is placed first chances are your prospect wont even bother to read on to see the free information.

Technique no. 5
Selling copy Vs Style Copy

Style copy is based on the assumption that pretty words and poetry sell products, --don't ask me why?- If it were true poets would be the richest people on earth...Here is an example of style copy...

Try this soap for just 7 days and you will be convinced. You will feel its super exuberant fragrant lather, ooze along the texture of your skin cleansing every pore, refreshing your very being!!

Now read a piece of selling copy about the same product...

This soap is made of olive and palm oils--no other fats whatsoever. No artificial coloring. No heavy fragrance to mask other odors. It is pure soap that more than 20,000 beauty experts around the world have recommended it...

Notice how style copy consists mainly of unsupported claims whereas the selling copy is full of specifics. Selling copy works, style copy is the equivalient of just pissing your advertising budget away, so always use selling copy.

Technique no.6

Arouse Curiosity

Curiosity can be a very powerful tool the copywriter can use, just as long as he/she doesn't give away the prize! Let me explain...Lets say your selling a book to men on how to get dates, and you want to tease them about a certain secret contained in your product lets say for example its...

A "KARMA SUTRIC method that allows you to touch a women in a certain spot that will turn her into putty in your hands, almost instantly!"

Now you see, the gold is in your description its in your teasing you don't want to actually give the prize away, by not telling the prospect what the method is you make him want to order the book.

Here is what I mean by giving the game away, like for example you said instead

"in my book you will discover a "KARMA SUTRIC method that turns hot sexy women into putty in your hands...by you just whispering, ABRA CADDABRA twice in her earlobe.

Now you see, by giving away the prize it turns the reader completely off the product, the teasing tension has been lost for ever, and so has the potential sale. You see?
