Headlines are the most important part of your ad, or sales letter. I am going to teach you how to write the kinds of headlines that force people to read your ad.

First off. Get in your readers face

You want headlines that make your prospects say "Holy ****!" When they read them...When you think of a headline if it doesn't make you yourself say "holy ****" when you think of it, then it certainly won't have the same effect on your prospect.

Check out these headlines below that have the holy **** factor.

"How Even a Headless Dim-Witted 11-Year Old Can Learn How To Outshoot, Outsmart and Kick the Ass of! Almost ANY HALO 2 Player on the Planet... 100% Guaranteed!"

Notice how the word "headless" in the headline makes the curiosity factor here shoot through the roof! The word 'headless' Is actually used here to describe the 11 year old as having not a lot of sense. It plays on the perception of the prospects and forces them to read on which ultimately leads to more sales for you.

"Wanted: Your Services As a Highly Paid Sex Specialist!--No Experience Required."

You see all those headlines above have the all important "HOLY ****"factor, this is what you need to have in your headlines if you want to experience a flood of sales for your product/s or service.
Alright, let's go deeper into this now...

What "IS" the holy **** factor exactly, and How can you use it to increase the effectiveness of your headlines?

To me the holy **** factor is an aspect of a headline that simply captures the reader eyes, mind, and hearts for that moment in time.
It steals her attention and holds it for ransom, it whisks her away to a better place for lack of better words, allow me to explain.
Let's say she (she being the prospect) has a tooth ache, and let's imagine that the tooth ache has been burning her all day long, she's tried taking some aspirin and pain killers to numb the pain but nothing is really working.

Then she's walking down the road from her office or her work place and she sees your Ad on the corner, maybe at a bookstand or something saying like...

"Got Tooth ache? Give Me $2 And Get Rid Of Your Tooth Ache, Or Keep Your $2 And Keep Your Toothache It's Your Decision!"

Now when she reads that Ad, The first thing that comes to her mind is " HOLY ****, that is exactly what she was needing. It was if that Ad was written just for her! To her, it will seem like a true god sent miracle cure, the greatest most welcome things she's read all day.

So when you write a headline you want to ask yourself, what is going through the mind of your prospect right now! This is the basis of your headline; you want to walk in their shoes.

"SELF SELF SELF SELF SELF Interest!"

It pulls in better results than any other type of headline, always show the customer what's in it for them! Paint the sunny side of a product never the doom and gloom like for example, if you were selling toothpaste you would show a picture of a bright sparkling smile, not a molded decayed picture of a smile, understand?

--Although there is, a very powerful exception to this ....a dark selling technique called the "fear of loss" Which when used correctly will almost frighten your prospects to reading every word of your copy. And whip them into such a sweaty frenzy they'll find it hard to keep hold of their credit card as they order from your advertising. But THEY WILL order!
There are not many copywriters alive today who know how to fully utilize this technique and the ones that do are swimming in cash and never fully reveal it to anyone...I may lift the lid on this, and more dark selling techniques in my next article...
