I've only heard good things from business owners I trust that DON'T want to have employees.

I don't like employees, but there are some good ones out there.
There's an art to hiring good people and it takes some time.
IMO, other tricks and key points for people who want employees:
*pay for performance and just an hourly wage.
*if they work for and take orders directly from the business owner, there will be problems. Get yourself out of the picture, have a good manager handle employees.
*Don't come to work in a $50,000+ car, unless your employees and customers can afford the same.
