Default Sick of Nasty Copywriters! - 06-13-2008, 06:44 PM

In an essay by Michael Kinsley, TIME Magazine (6-23-200, he discusses
the two political candidate's promise not to 'swift-boat' each other and
run a clean campaign ... Great read.

What caught my attention was this line towards the end of the article:

"People tell pollsters they are sick of nasty politics, then they respond to it every time."

Kinda remind me of copywriting ain't it?

People who say they are sick of popups, red headlines, hypey copy, etc,
etc, and then they respond to it every time.

What people SAY and how they behave can be light years apart.

Copywriters must go with BEHAVIORS not polls.

Thanks for the link and you make good points. I would just qualify it with almost every time. I still don't like them which is why I have all kinds of blockers running in Firefox (flash, adblock plus, web developer to override CSS, etc.).

I'm completely open to a good writer guiding me where they want with their words. I refuse to be taken there by a cheap-a** popup. That's just plain lazy imo. Cheers.

I'm impressed, Ray. You made a post without a blog link in it

And your post is right on target. What people say and what they do are 2 completely different things.

I've made 2 posts with blog links. And that's over a spread of 4 years.
What's the percentage there?

Talk about swiftboating a guy.

My next website will be FightTheRaySmears.com

Peace,
