Default 180 Advertising Stories - 06-13-2008, 11:55 AM

LATER EDIT - This title should read one-eighty...as in 180 degrees. I'm not trying to collect 180 stories.

--------------------------------------------

Anyone know of any good stories about how someone took an ad that wasn't pulling anything, changed only one thing (either in wording, the way it was delivered, the people it was delivered to, etc,) and completely changed it around?

Doesn't have to be your own experience, I'm just looking for good stories.

I know there are several out there about raising the price and then suddenly having a landslide of orders.

Eric,

Brilliant question - and I'm hoping you'll get stacks of stories.

Because it'll become a rather useful - make that an invaluable "fix it up" copywriting course.

I did a small newspaper Ad - which was crammed into the back of the paper surrounded by dozens of other Ads.

So I put a circle around my Ad with an arrow pointing at it.

I'm sure you've all seen this done - and it did dramatically increase the response.

Read the story in my sig about Jaegermeister.

Think "College Kids" --

The man behind Grey Goose vodka understood that Americans want to pay more—You just have to give them a good story. Now he has a new tale to tell. it’s about a tequila called Corazón.

You could read the story in this free report about doubling the conversion rate of an ad by adding a caption under a photo...
Mind Mapping FREE Video And Report

Or the story in this video on doubling the conversion in an ad by changing the opening line...
Copywriting Web site design

I'm not sure if that's the kind of dramatic success story you're looking for though.

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh

Oh...wasn't necessarily looking for something to use. I just thought it would be a neat forum topic. Guess not.

Thanks though.
