Default Super Basic CRM Software - 06-10-2008, 12:53 PM

Howdy Folks,

I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a SUPER basic contact management/database software that is sleek and simply like a Mozilla or a Google app. ?

Nothing advanced like Infusion is needed. I'm looking for something to input my data into, and have it be arranged in simple 1 sheet pages I can print out and keep in a binder... but also have the database on my compy.

Any tips or hidden apps?

Thanks ya'll.

Hey there - a couple of questions...

Infusion is a hosted application if I'm not mistaken - are you looking for a different hosted app (like Contact Manager, Web Based CRM, Address Book for Small Business: Highrise) or something you can install on your computer?

If you want something you can install on your computer, are you using a Windows machine here, and just what do you mean by "1 sheet pages? Do you want one record per page, or a page with all your contacts listed top to bottom and name, address phone etc...all on one line?

I'm pretty sure you can print a list of all contacts in Outlook if you're using that on a PC, but if you don't have Outlook, you might want to try something like Contact Management software: Time and Chaos on your PC. I gave up on using ACT ages ago and Time and Chaos is one of the better CRM solutions I've since come across.

HTH,

Steve

1. Chaos Software
2. Maximizer
3. Sugar Software

ACT! used to be the top of the line simple software. I've heard that there have been lots of complaints though, in the last few versions.

Yeah, I don't like ACT! at all.

To answer Steve's questions...

I want essentially a database program that'll hold my list... and have an input page for me to enter my clients as they come in. I have a bunch of details I capture outside the normal name/address/phone.

Then, I want to be able to print out/view each contact (record) individually on it's own page... with all the information arranged nicely.

I'm pretty sure you can do it with Excel, I just have no idea how to program it all in so I was looking around for a simple, pre-made one.

Up til now I've been keeping my databases in excel, but have also been making "hard copies" on paper, by hand. Really getting old now, haha.

Use Access for something like that--not Excel.

If you put it in access, you have kind of an endless opportunity to update the information.

I use a CMS that I modified to handle mailings, gen lists in different formats and provide weird, sometimes useless, stats. It's nice because I don't have to worry about syncing my on and offline lists and it keeps track of membership levels (i.e. access to resources at gold, gold+, platinum, and inner-circle levels).

I have heard good things about ACT but I've never used it personally.
