Default Aweber's New Analytics Tool! Anyone Using? Thoughts? - 06-07-2008, 01:47 AM

Aweber has added what looks like a KILLER APP with their new analytics tool.

Track Clickthroughs Using Your Own Domain - Email Marketing Tips on the AWeber Blog

Anyone started implementing it yet?

Thoughts?

I hope they NEVER make me upgrade. If you have a list of 80,000 people, you go from paying around $100.00 per month on the current system to around $650.00 per month on the new one.

It's insane. There was a huge deal about it on the Warrior Forum and thank God Tom Kulzer said they don't plan on forcing the people on the old system to go to the new system.

He also said he'd guarantee it and will let people pre-pay for 5 years max to ensure it. So, I'm pre-paying for 5 years so I don't get screwed.

In 5 years we'll have around 250,000 double opt-ins on our list. That would mean I'd be paying around $2,500 per month rather than $270$.

I can use Adtrackz for CTR stuff and it's VERY accurate. I just don't see the point and I sure ain't paying that much unless I'm forced.

To me, the new pricing is a ripoff and a ton of people agree with me. But I love Aweber and their service and current pricing structure. I just pray I can stay on the OLD way of doing things.

They really came out of left field with the pricing on this service. I know it's their business and they can do what they want, but charging 500% more for stats? That's like paying an extra $150,000 for a sun roof on a $30,000 car.

Like Ricky mentioned a cheap tracking script installed on your own server can handle all your tracking needs, and the other option of sending another email to people who didn't buy first time you can do with the basic aweber package by having buyers sign up for a customer list and getting automatically unsubscribed from the non-customer list. That way you can keep pummeling the non-buyer list till the cows come home.

I logged in the other day and got a pitch trying to upgrade me to the new service... I am currently paying around $200 a month, and my rate under the new service was going to be over $1000 a month.

The funniest part was, they offered me a savings of $36 if I prepaid $13,000 for 12 months in advance!

I'm thinking of signing up for a new account, directing a couple of weeks worth of traffic to it, and testing out the new features, but man.... that is a lot of dough for an autoresponder!

Mike

I don't have an autoresponder yet. After Aweber's pricing increase, I'm now considering GR instead.

Any thoughts?

I believe Tom's a member here at the board - rarely visits, but I've seen a few posts a long time ago I believe.

Would love to have him poke his head in and explain their thought process here -- seems it's spiraling into negative buzz.

I think it's important to note that the basic service on Aweber is still the same price $20 a month (if you have a list of 10,000 emails or less) and a real deal at that price.

My observation is that Aweber gets the highest response rate of any service out there.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the upgraded deluxe service was overpriced.

I would've been happy to pay my current subscription price again for the service but I think the current charge is over the top.

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh

Nope, that's what a lot of fuss is about, the entry level package has dropped to $19 -- but only for 500 names.

Here's the updated pricing:

Subscribers
Monthly

501 - 2,500
$29

2,501 - 5,000
$49

5,001 - 10,000
$69

10,001 - 25,000
$149
