Who are your favourite top 5 Marketeers?

The ones that really, really know their stuff.

The usual suspects...

- Eben Pagan
- John Reese
- Frank Kern
- Jeff Walker
- Rich Schefren

Actually, I'd add Moffatt and Kilstein too... these are the 2 dudes whose post archive I bother browsing...

May I say that these threads aren't of much value unless we say "Why"?

Jay Abraham because he's Jay Abraham. There isn't a better person to learn marketing from.

Vincent James, Joe Francis, and John Scherer because they're all are direct response marketers and continuity/backend moguls.

Joe Sugarman because of his extensive copywriting and direct response advertising experience.

Lance

Travis Sago - He was the first person I actually learned from.... I also got meet him and he is a great guy.

Frank Kern - Everything the dude touches turns to gold... I try to study everything he does.

Jason Moffatt - He freaking blew me away when I saw him at a conference. He was the most entertaining person and the only one that did not pitch us at the pitchfest.

I like some other people, but these are really my top 3... At the moment I can not think of 2 more.

Bill Guthy/Greg Renker of Guthy Renker
Marty Edelston of Board Room Reports
Joe Sugarman
Ted Nicholas
Ben Suarez

Honorable mention:

Bill Bonner
David Oreck
Johnny Berguson (of Kingdom Inc)

If they haven't made a cent off-line or don't have annual sales of at least $10 mil a year-- they aren't making my list.

1.Vincent James- He is hip unapolagetic and current within the marketing community. I bought his book (trade secrets)years ago and although I didnt learn much from it(I simply didnt understand direct response marketing then. I was wet behind the ears) I kept the sales letter and still have it till this day. I didn't learn about copywriting until years later, I kept the letter simply because I liked the ad! Since then I have learned more from purchasing 12 month millionaire than anything else I have read. The funny thing is the things he was doing over 10 years earlier still apply in the 12 month book. Vincent style and philiosophy is much like mine. Anominity, trust your own products, trust your own copy, and make your own money. Oh yeah VJ gets my vote.
2. Dan Kennedy(aka "ol reliable")- Dan is a master teacher, but, he is also one who is a doer. I like the way he teaches and if you listen closely he unveals things like a magician. He talks about how the con and the marketer are closely linked and he separates the differences so that one can stay out harms way. I like Dan, but before I listen to him I make sure I hide my credit card and handcuff myself or else my money will be his, lol.
3. Joe Mcoy- Joe is a triple threat. Marketer, Product creator, and distributor to wal mart. Joe could market anything, but, more importantly he can get the product on the largest stage if you care for that sort of thing. Joe also can market real estate. Gotta love his style.
4. Jim Straw- Jim Straw I respect more for what he does now then what he has done in the pass. Jim is the only big guru who if I email him he will return my email. I have never done anything for this man other than sign up to receive emails, but, one thing is certain is if I need his help he will respond. Not to mention he has sold everything under the sun.
5. Guthy Renker- need I say more?
