I was commenting on a couple of threads and I found myself dipping into and jotting some notes into the Marketing part of my swipe database.

And I couldn't help but wonder how many people have a marketing swipe. And if so, what's in there?

-- Trends and new twists on old ideas

-- Marketing campaigns

-- Sequence strategies: Letter, call, letter, then email?

-- Segmentation and what I call "trigger pionts" where suspects become prospects, or customers become best customers

Honestly John I wish I had the time to organize my idea file better. Right now I collect the pieces I have an interest in and then once the pile gets large enough, I take it out to my shop next to the garage where it goes into storage boxes.

You've got a good idea about analyzing each piece...

I generally make sure to save the whole sequence for a promotion whether it is online or off. Sometimes I have to write it out to keep it somewhat organized.

I don't really keep a pile on trends and so on (outside of my own head at least). I do keep track of everything else that is working that I can get ahold of. That alone is easily a multi million dollar education.

It's one thing just to swipe an ad... but you really need to swipe the whole promotion to get the full knowledge of what's going on and how they are using it. Including what is being sold on the backend.
