Default Jeffrey Gitomer Books - Recommendations? - 02-02-2008, 10:39 PM

Greetings Fellow Copywriters,

I got a bunch of Borders gift cards for Christmas that I'm ready to cash in. I was thinking of picking up something written by Jeffrey Gitomer as I really like his ezine and his customer service is worthless book.

Anyone have any recommendations on some of his other books that they've read, especially the sales-related ones?

Much thanks,

Mike

Mike,

His latest one, "Little Platinum Book of Cha-Ching: 32.5 Strategies to Ring Your Own (Cash) Register in Business and Personal Success" had a lot of valuable lessons in it.

Thought that was one of his better ones.

Start with The Sales Bible...

As essential as your dictionary or thesauras.

And it's an easy read. Short chapters, lots of bullets, lists, etc.

Right re the Sales Bible is a must-have start w/Gitomer... I've bought and reread and rewatched all his books and videos, I attend his seminars, he's great.

Best Gitomer resource is his $99 4 hours of podcast videos cd at:
Buy Gitomer: Jeffrey Gitomer's Little Red Book of Sales Answers iPod Video

I've studied Gitomer for over 12 years, closely, he's a core sales training resource, he's the world's best sales trainer, whom I've learned a lot from.

Oh - I forgot this one by Anthony (Tony) Geary...

Life is a Series of Presentations: 8 Ways to Inspire, Inform and Influence Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime.

This is a sales primer also.

You can get all his little colored books in a boxed set now, but the only one I own is his "Little Red Book". Personally I wasn't much for his "Sales Bible", having been reading Ziglar, Hopkins and Abraham for so many years.

Thanks everyone.

Just ordered Gitomer's Sales Bible, Brian Tracy's Speaking To Win, and David Allen's Getting Things Done from Borders... Sales Bible was a sweet $8!

If either book can teach me one new idea that I can put into action then they have paid for themselves immediately.

I'm putting the other books on my future buys list.

Take care,

Mike

Sales Bible was 8 bucks because a new version is coming out in a few months, but thats a sweet price. I keep a copy of "the little red book of selling" in my car and read it now and then, its pretty damn good. Sort of like having a half dozen b-books in one.
