Default Looking for a real email provider... thoughts? - 01-17-2008, 11:32 AM

So I'm all happy with AWeber's deliverability stats, but as far as actually running a smart marketing campaign, they really leave a lot to be desired.

I imagine that's why you pay $19.95.

So who has experience with "real" email providers as Big Jason calls them? Folks like Email Labs...?

I need something that can do basic marketing stuff.

(1shoppingcart is off the table due to deliverability.)

Stuff like:

-Move leads from list to list WITHOUT re-opting in. Create sublists based on various lead behavior/actions.

-Be able to deal with very large lists. Hundreds of thousands.

-Have the system be LEAD specific, not list specific. Like in Aweber, you can have the same email address on multiple lists and Aweber has no clue that it's the same lead. Really annoying.

What experiences does anyone have with any good providers that have a more intelligent setup in terms of marketing? Who around here is using Infusion?

Thanks in advance,

P.S. Is Infusion really the only game out there that can track a lead through online and offline marketing campaigns?

hey kyle, you need to be careful with infusion. I actually have a video for a potential problem with deliverability and open rates with infusion.

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

other issues include no opening or closing tags like so:
Code:
<html><head><title></title></head><body></body></html>
and the out of the box version currently is not authenticating with domainkeys.

can't officially vouch for them yet, but Mobile Storm (<-- bastard affiliate link) might be something to checkout. more features than the bottom-tier providers most people use but not as expensive as the real esps.

Kyle I can't speak from personal experience but a few trusted sources have had lots of problems with Infusion. For one thing, they haven't been happy with the customer service's ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise. Just my 2 cents...well my friends' 2 cents that is!

Thanks for the heads up guys. I've heard murmurs of unease about Infusion here and there.

We're currently using Aweber, deliverability and all that is great, we're mainly looking at Infusion for the CRM & offline/online campaign management stuff.

My client was already sold on moving to Infusion before speaking to me as some of his buddies are using it, but I'm happy to hear any other suggestions.
