Arrow Multi-pay for products >$1K - what do you think? - 12-08-2007, 11:00 AM

I remember seeing in earlier Dan Kennedy materials, his saying it's important to offer multi-pay options for products over a certain price point ($500-1K)...

This is in case the person doesn't have say $1K available credit on a single credit card, and/or just to help them spread out payments.

However when I look at Dan's site now, I see zero multi-pay options for any of his products, even those up at $2K+ ... and so I know there must be a reason... eg likely he found that people cancelled/refunded after the first payment or whatever ...

And since I like to "do what the big guys Do" vs what's being said.. any ideas/comments on whether it's a smart idea to offer multiple payment options for info-products priced >$1K? And if it is, why doesn't Dan offer that?

thx,

-k

Default Dan Kennedy's Multi Pay Billing Options... - 12-08-2007, 11:18 AM

I remember Dan's statement and while he was talking about using multi pay options in general he was specifically talking about charging attendees at a seminar or physical function.

The very entertaining reason he gave was so when your clients got home from the function their wives wouldn't pound on them for spending so much money...they'd only see the charges on one credit card...not 3 or 4.

At a physical function you can very easily say to your prospect "you know we can charge this product on 3 or 4 cards for you".

That seems like you're being helpful.

Your staff can do the same thing if they're taking phone orders or if you're doing any kind of marketing by telephone or even with online chat.

An on online sales letter it sounds a bit dodgy.

Dan may still be using this method in some of his mailed offers to past clients but I think a big part of it may be that Dan Kennedy now spends a large portion of his time and efforts targeting people who don't blink an eyelid at paying $2,000, $10,000 or even $20,000.

This is the marketing you don't see much in his mainstream material although he does talk about it a little.

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh

I would think some sort of payment plan for larger purchases would have far greater impact on sales as opposed to offering someone the chance to split their payment up over a few different cards.
