Default Info-Product Creation - 02-16-2007, 10:24 PM

For those you who create info products, care to share any tips on how you organize and write on your topic?

I find that I want to include too much information. When I say too much, I can create a book on each chapter itself. Maybe it's because I'm tired of all the products that I buy that have the 2 inch margins, double spaced and don't offer much in the way of content.

Thanks,
MikeC

If you can write a book on each chapter your subject is probably not specific enough.

e.g. Instead of "Internet Marketing" as a topic you'd be better served breaking each chapter out into it's own book, you'll sell more of each of your "niched" ebooks than you would on the large general one.

Mike,

The more specific you are, the better. For instance, instead of writing a "How to Start a Home-Based Business" product, focus on specific home-based businesses. For instance, you can write a "How to Start a Home-based Daycare Business" or "How to Start a Home-based Medical Coding Business." When you generalize too much, you'll miss your target market. (I know. I sold my first information product many years ago and ignored the advice I just gave to you. My product was too broad in scope, and it cost me a lot of money.)

Good luck.

Deb
