Default Have spammers "spoofed" your domain name? - 10-28-2006, 12:03 AM

I'm curious if anyone else has had to deal with spammers spoofing your domain name.

I get at least 90 emails each day saying, "Mail Delivery Subsystem [MAILER-DAEMON@blahblahbla] Returned mail: see transcript for details"

Sometimes it's in the hundreds

When I look at the rejected messages it's always spammers using fake email addresses with my domain name.

Their lame tactics got me blackballed from reaching email addresses on aol, comcast, and a bunch of other hosts until I verified the ip address of my email server with each of them.

* Just wondering if anyone has found a good way to prevent yourself from getting spam complaints because of jerks who spoof 'sent from' someone on your domain name.

Thanks.

Andre

This is potentially "techy", but this is the time to use an "email authentication"
method to cut down that possibility. Creating Sender Policy Framework (SPF)
records is one way:
