The SHOCKING TRUTH About
The Coming Internet Marketing

Seminarmageddon!

Big Seminar
Little Seminar
Free Seminar
Appreciation Seminar
Expo Seminar
National Seminar
World Summit Seminar
Need to make the lease payment seminar
Buy my wife a new diamond seminar
Me and my buddies can't make enough with our million dollar product launch days seminar
How else can we rip off a few more hungry but unknowning souls seminar

Hello?

Do we have enough seminars on the books yet?

Do we have enough choices?

Well... I see a new trend.

It's getting so hard to put these things together that the organizers are having to resort to giving the tickets away... or nearly so.

Good, bad or ugly, Armand's thing is a clear "market leader." Yet, I just got an appeal from Stephen Pierce who's basically offering an "instant rebate" -- ie: his commission... to get people there.

My bud, the orange philosopher himself just held his (reported) last IM Masterclass. Filled up many of the seats with hundred buck to free seats. Good for him. He very smartly realizes there are BIGGER fish to fry.

Penland and Bechtold are struggling to fill seats with their "pay today get it back when you get here" approach.

PREDICTION! This is the beginning of the end of IM seminars as we know them.

Not the end of seminars... there will ALWAYS be seminars.

Some good. Some not worth showing up for.

But the glory days are clearly OVER!

I agree this industry will be changing.

I see 2 or 3 trends.

The Larger Seminars (200+) will experience a huge shakeout in the next 24 months. Prices will drop, but so will competition until the supply curve stabilizes. Only the strong will survive.

There will still be plenty of money in tightly focused niche or guru seminars where folks will pay thousands to get on the cutting edge, whatever that may be.

Teleseminars will become more popular, but I think it will be hard to sell really high ticket items to folks who won't even get out of their seats to hear you. (Although I've got precious little experience in this area.)

A.

Wait 'til you see the new mega-product Armand Morin is putting out in the next few weeks (officially on November 1st).

(I hope he doesn't shoot me for this! It was supposed to be a secret, but I couldn't resist.)

It's a seminar how-to infoproduct, and it's massive. We're talking several CDs, DVDs and manuals. It's called "The S.M.A.R.T. System." (Seminar Marketing And Resource Training.)

It discusses the entire process of running, marketing, making money from and managing seminars and events. And I believe (although not sure) that Armand will be selling advanced copies at the Big Seminar.

(And yes, yours truly is in there. Somewhere.)

I've grown really jaded with all the free teleseminar call announcements I get in my Inbox -- I'm sure there's some good stuff I'm missing, but I'd never get any work done if I listened to all of them, and if I download the recording (stop me if you've heard this one before) it just sits on my hard drive forever.

Is this based on the "live event" he did a few months back? With some other people?

Ken, I totally agree...

It just gets to be too much.

In all fairness, when you get outside the "IM" arena, there's less going on -- the market hasn't been hammered as hard. IMHO...

And... regarding "downloads" -- that's one of the reasons why we're teaching people to "take their leads offline" fast as possible.

My fulfillment house now has a "package" you can offer to people who "opt-in"

It's an audio CD, 8 page sales letter (that can be increased) put in an envelope, labeled and everything for $5.95. On demand...

You don't touch anything.

I'm about to launch several "lead generation campaigns" using the system, and several of my colleagues are too.

Point is... once you get them "offline" they can pop the CD in the car, put it on their ipod, computer or whatever... and it's more 'in your face' -- not as easy to "ignore."

Plus, you can hit them again and again without the "email inbox clutter zone."

Perry Marshall and several others have done this for a while... nothing new.

But it works!

Yes and no. The live event (NEXT Level Promoters Bootcamp) was put on by the SMART team. The same authors of this product.

This is a complete, step-by-step course and information product. Parts (video snippets) from that seminar are included to demonstrate specific points or use as teaching modules. Similar, say, to Traffic Secrets, which used snippets from John Reese's Triple Your Profits Seminar he did the year before.

I've only seen the draft. And it's quite comprehensive. Especialy when it's put together by 4 people, and not just Armand. So it's going to be a massive product.

Sounds valuable...

I hope "buyers" look at it as a way to go out and dominate THEIR OWN NICHE... not turn around and join the "fray" of people trying to sell into the same pot of IM'ers and wannabes.

Look at DK's inner circle guys... that's what they do. Resturants, floor care, chiropractic, etc, etc.

That's where the BIG opportunities of the future exist.

One of the things to point is, based on "Get Offline, Fast!" is that you don't necessarily have to get totally offline. Think hybrid. Plus, I would qualify that as "Get Out of Internet Marketing, FAST!"

The Internet marketing arena is really the big problem, methinks. It's highly saturated. Sure, there's place for new products and new twists. But most of it is regurgitated and only sold to other Internet marketers who want to to the same thing -- sell Internet marketing stuff to other Internet marketers.

Copywriter Paul Myers once said it best:

"Internet marketers are a bunch of incestuous cannibals."

There's a lot more money (and a lot larger markets) out there than Internet marketing. Market on the Internet, sure. But use Internet marketing to sell regular -- and yes, both digital (soft products) and non-digital (offline, hard products) -- to people.

Just as JP speaks of seminars getting too crowded, top book writers and publishers are screaming because the book (or infoproduct) business is getting overcrowded, too.

Like copywriter Bob Bly, author of 70 books, who recently quit the book business:

bly.com blog » Finis

Seminars are always going to be powerful tools to sell. It's just that the content needs to change. And the Internet marketing, for Internet marketers, is a field you don't want to jump into, in my opinion.
