Default What are Your Goals? - 09-04-2006, 11:26 AM

I've been very busy with SEO writing lately, and I've had a unique problem: I don't have enough time to accomplish many of my short term goals--at least it seems that way. I'm trying to find a way to accomplish what I need to do without collapsing from exhaustion each night.

During Yancey Foster's Mastermind call, we anounced our goals to the other participants, and I found it very interesting. One of the most powerful tools you can use to achieve your goals is to put them in writing, so why not do it right here where you can get all the support you need? Ultimately, it's up to you to take action, but with my goal of breaking into the self-help niche, I am curious to see what motivates my fellow copywriters on the board. I also want to put my goals "out there" because I'm too stubborn to back down once I've made an announcement.

Here are my goals:

September: Design and print two-sided business cards.
Spend more time reading all the books I've purchased.
Embrace this SEO writing I've fallen into. It wasn't part of my original writing goal, but I think I may have something here. Also, promote my business and expand my services with other types of writing projects.

October: Design web page. I can't transfer my domain name right now. I should be able to do that by mid-October. My domain name is MyKayLin Marketing--named after my children Mychal, Kayla, and Lindsay.

November/December: Begin product development. I really like the idea of success coaching. I earned a B.A. in psychology and a Master's Degree in English. I've always liked the idea of combining these two loves by developing success products and seminars.

2007: Continue developing products and save money! I'd like to take the summer off from teaching, but I can't do that without a financial cushion to fall back on. I want to launch full time in the summer. If my business takes off, I'll quit my teaching job. If I need a little more time, my job will still be there when the fall semester begins.

You can support me by just doing what you've been doing--encourage me and keep me up-to-date with industry trends.

Now, it's your turn. Tell us what your goals are and how we can support you.

Good luck, and best wishes for a successful future!

Deb

Good luck my friend, and hope that success will be yours.

Best wish.

My number one goal:

Have more time to write down my goals!!

You make a great point. It really does help to write your goals and look at them everyday. When I was in sales, I had my goals posted over my desk and read them everyday. It really helped me focus and accomplish each one of them.

Crack the Whip, Deb

Make those goals specific and measurable. Ha! It's kinda like writing those darn learning objectives for the classroom.

Full Steam Ahead.
