You know, it would be a whole lot easier to earn those 6-figures if clients weren't under the mistaken impression that copywriting is easy. After all, we've all been writing since the 1st grade, so how hard can it be? I earn enough money writing to put bread on the table and juice flowing to the lightbulbs, but man, it's hard to get up anywhere close to a 6-figure year. I've actually seen freelance job listings for $3 an article for 500-word articles! What do they think they're going to get for only $3? Not my work, that's for sure.

All that ranting aside, I've not taken the AWAI courses, but I've benefited from their free newsletters. And at the very least, their sales letters are good examples of copywriting that works. You never know where a good idea or a learning opportunity will come from!

Wow, this thread is fantastic! I've spent the last hour or so going through the entire thing....I've already got two full pages of notes!

I had previously looked into the AWAI program, but after enough research (not just this thread), I've decided that if I truly want a six-figure income later on, only I can make that happen. No fancy program can do that for you if you don't have the talent and the motivation to make good copy. I'll settle for books, thanks (I've got over 20 on my list! )

============
"I don't think AIWA's course is any more of a "scam" than any of the other high priced copywriting courses out there"
============

I thought it was OK, a little fluffy and some filler and a little over priced, but I learn something from everything I read. I wish they would have included the key points on audio for the price I paid.

And hey, they are some of the best writers out their. I think AWAI's course reflects their ad copy style they use in some of their sales letters.

That's where success is.

In all the work others won't do.

"Success comes dressed in work clothes"

Scams are all those programs/courses telling you you can get rich only working a few hours here and there.

Question Re: how do you charge royalties - 06-18-2008, 06:40 PM

Will someone who has been successful with charging royalties for a sales letter give us brief over view..."How Do You Charge Royalties" for a sales letter.

All the marketing books talk about doing it, but I have yet come across "How To Make It Happen"?

Example: Lets say I charge $200.00 for a sales letter and then want to charge royalties...how do we know what the customer is making as a direct result from this sales letter and know what to charge them and do you have them pay you monthly, yearly?

Thank you,

Dave
