Default Buying Traffic - 03-17-2006, 01:08 PM

Has anyone here bought traffic before and how much success have you had with it? I launched a new site and want to test a few traffic generating services but theres too many all promising the same things.

Anyone had any good success with any company or can give a recommendation?

Thanks

As a follow up to my major concerns, I've checked out 8 companies and not a single one have a physical address, many didn't even have a phone number where I could call them.

So any other more pleasant experiences are most welcome!

Hi Sammer,

How do you mean "buying traffic"?

Jane

Jane,

Ok, many of these companies offer 'taregeted traffic' to your site where they claim to only send highly taregted visitors in exchange for a fee.

So for example, you pay $X amount and they'll send a corresponding number - usually from 5,000 all the way up to a million visitors to your site.

So I emailed one of them and asked them 'do you guarantee you will send me 10,000 targeted visitors? He writes back with 'of course, yes we will!'

So I responded and said my market happens to be a very niche area, how can you guarantee it in such a narrow field?

He didnt reply.

So its left me in two minds. One side says dont waste your time or money, the other says its not a waste even if it doesnt work out. At least i know for sure if it works or not.

I havent tried it yet, but if they can send 10,000 'highly targeted' visitors to my site and I get a very modest 2% sales conversion rate, I'll retire in 6 months.

Thats why it sounds too good to be true that the actual quality of the traffic will be any good.

Hey Sammer,

While I haven't used their services myself, I've heard good things about http://www.awio.com/internet-marketing.php and the traffic they offer.

I know the company owner Dan Grossman from www.sitepoint.com http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/member.php?userid=7562 and he's been posting there for about six years and seems very reputable.

He's located in PA so I'm sure he's probably easy to get a hold of if you need to.

Cheers!
