Works every time... or nearly everytime. -

The following emails all appeared in my inbox simultaneously.
The emails are all coming from folks whose names I recognize, and whose lists I've chosen to stay on. And while not all of them tip their hands in the subject line, I knew it was a safe bet they were all promoting John Reese's next launch.
Any guess on which one I opened, or thoughts on which one you'd be most drawn to open?

I would have opened " new traffic secrets video just released" because I get so many vague email headlines these days, I only open ones that are specific and give me some indication what the topic is about.

I opened them all just to see how everyone is promoting... but Franks "bummer" was the first. I knew it was a TS email but curiosity about the bummer part pulled me in.

I'd open bummer. It's the only one that hints at an emotion and everyone likes to hear about how someone's day was worse than their own. It's almost like reality email. The rest, if I didn't know the name in the subject, would make me think my Junk Mail filter was turned off. Cheers

If I had a dime for every retail store that "got it" I'd owe $6,139,420.40.
