I am not a copywighter, but I am reasonably pleased with this sales page for a new product that can be used to create unique niche websites quickly.

Quick And Easy Niche Websites

Can you please check it out and let me know how I can imporve it?

There is one novel approach using images - let me know if this works for you?

Hi Tony,

It's great that you want to help people get on the web and put programmers and developers out of business but you're going to have a tough time selling that to anyone other than a highly specific niche market. In that case your copy would have to be completely written just for that market.

I built sites for people back in 1997 and I wrote a CMS in 2001 that was totally self contained. It worked because it targeted a specific niche in a niche from top to bottom, it looked like the whole service was just for that group.

My advice is to target one very small group that needs what you have to offer, rewrite the copy to hit their hot buttons and offer some starter templates just for that group and hit them hard with your copy which means you'll need a mailing list.

I wish you the best. GL

thanks for the feedback - do you mean that I should target a particular niche market rathar than Internet Marketeers looking to build niche websites. Eg, weight loss, motivation, muscle building etc?

cheers

Hi. Yes because people wanting to make money on the Internet are a wide demographic. I briefly tried to reach 'everyone' and it failed miserably because there was no word of mouth that happens in small niche groups, I was a small fish in a big pond, I couldn't beat anyone on price and I didn't have a huge advertising budget.

For instance, if you want to target weight loss I'd recommend you go after marketers that want to build weight loss sites. I'm not the best person to suggest how to do that. There's people out there that are much better at internet biz's like affiliates, adwords, etc. You'll probably get some of those tips in this thread. I hope that helps.

Hi Tony,

I don't know much about this particular market, but I do see one thing that might turn potential customers away: lack of proof.

You say you're a professional web architect who works with designers and programmers all the time. But what are your credentials? Do you have any quotes from people who have used your template and can verify that it really is quick and easy? Or better yet, that your template has saved them time and money?

You mention that you're selling this at an introductory rate to get testimonials, but you might be better served giving the template away for free to get those testimonials. I think you're going to need them.

One other thing -- and again, I don't know much about this market -- but I find the two screenshots you use kind of unimpressive. They're very similar, and on first glance, it looks like you merely added a header graphic and some text to the second. So to imagine that you can go from one to the other in minutes isn't very difficult.

That's all. I do like your copy -- very conversational and nicely-laid out, with subheads and bullets and all. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

thanks for the feedback

I can add some testimonials but I always wonder if anyone believes them anymore? A reasonably well known internet marketeer has viewed the tutorials and raves about them, but again I'm not sure if I want to add a testimonial from him?

I also don't want to shout "how good I am" as that might be condecending so it a tricky balance - in order to show proof I would need to take them off the page which I don't want to do - will think about this one

the two sites are similar, deliberately so as the first is the template and the second was made using the template - they are not meant to be impressively graphic just practical lets get the job done quickly so I can earn some money now sort of templates/sites,

foor for thought again for me

thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,

I got out of this market a couple years ago so I'd love to hear how it goes for you. The one thing I liked about providing that service is you have the opportunity to have very loyal customers. GL

Hey Tony,

What you said about testimonials echoed a recent conversation I had with a client. I was trying to figure out how I could get their importance across, and I ended up making this video. See if it doesn't make you look at testimonials in a new light:

Selling Yourself For Fun and Profit « Wordwise Marketing

Best of luck,

Hi Kelly,

Thats a good video with some useful practical advice. I'll add a testimonial to the sales page

One thing I'm curious about is that no-one so far has criticised the actual copy - it can't be that good, though I am making sales which means it can't be that bad
