Default Which of these "Las Vegas" names is catchiest for seminars? - 05-01-2008, 09:26 AM

Hi -

I just registered and/or bought a handful of domains to use in creating an entire new Las Vegas active trading business, and was wondering which of them you think is best?

1) http://www.TradeVegas.com
2) http://www.LasVegasTrading.com
3) http://www.TradingLasVegas.com
4) http://www.VegasTradingSeminar.com
5) http://www.VegasTradingSeminars.com

I also have a few catchier title-related domains, though I wanted to focus on the main/generic type domain first -- which of the above do you think is best?

Events will be marketed via affs/jvs/house lists, and will have different names depending on the specific event. I may also do some limited ppc ads, though not likely. Mostly I'll have subdomains set up for super-affs.. so I'm trying to think of which root domain is best.

I'm asking for your help in this, because you folks have the best copywriting chops around.

Thanks!

Ken

I like VegasTradingSeminars.

Why?

It eliminates the possibility of someone typing in Los Vegas.

Las sounds like "loss" - something you don't want to hear when thinking about trading.

I like seminar in the plural, leaving the possibility of more than one seminar.

And, Ken, I just want to tell you that I was looking over your websites the other day and everything I saw - your website, your videos, your audio mp3s - were well done and very professional. Nice work.

Thanks - that's a very astute NLP-type observation re "Las" and "loss", I hadn't thought of that. And thanks for the kind words re the sites, it's fun to be creative, though a lot of work. Much appreciated.

Can you do VegasTradingSummit or VegasTradersSummit? For some reason VegasTradingSeminar seems to imply to me that the content might somehow be tied into Vegas.

I could be completely alone about that, though.

Hi Andy, thanks - good point. I do have vegastradingexpo.com and others like that, interesting re tied to Vegas, that's important to make sure it's seen as the Location (vs content) is about Vegas, as the "theme" for the events...

I like TradeVegas.com for it's simplicity. Kind of hard to misspell and it's the shortest one. Pretty easy to remember too.

TradeVegas.com: Trade Vegas for what?

Doesn't work.

It depends on if Ken is looking for search engine rankings or just a catchy name that's easy to remember, or something else.

Hi - right re tradevegas.com mainly it's because it's short and easy to remember for the fence-sitters to type into their browser to look at the salesletter over and over again, before they finally succumb to my sales-pulling copy, whip out their credit cards and register their seat for the time limited discount they'll be able to take advantage of.

Good point though re grammatically it's not right, as you point out, Marcia - that's also my wife's feedback, she had suggest TradeInVegas.com or TradingInVegas.com , so I registered those, too. I'll have to split test response rates from these domains, I'll have them all resolve to the same end location, do a multi-variate split to my house list and see which gets clicked on the most... with the same exact email copy, except for the domain names, which will be the split test variable; I'll likely test 4 variants to see what pulls best.

Thanks for the feedback, all - makes sense.

Ken

I'm with Marcia - those were my exact thoughts when I read that web site name.

I like VegasTradingSeminars.com - easy to remember, reasonable length for the name & leaves the possibility of future seminars as JCollins said.

Good luck - let us know what pulls best! I'm curious to hear your results.
