Default Encouraging positive lifestyle promises website - 12-27-2007, 03:41 PM

Hi,

Im new, from London. It looks like there is a really supportive community here. Very impressed. I'd love to have a critique of my new website.

As this is not just a sales letter I may be interested in getting paid help too. Please send me a private message as well as a critique if you are interested.

This is a charity sponsored project which aims to help people make and keep positive lifestyle promises such as: Support a good cause, Be more green, Get fit and healthy, Give up smoking...

As well as persuading people to sign up, I hope to get ideas on how to get repeat visitors, create more impact and making it more viral.

thanks

Yau

I spent a few minutes there trying to figure out what the site was about. To tell you the truth, I'm still not quite sure what the point is.

If you wanted to really go anywhere with this (and I could be wrong...maybe it's a warm, fuzzy thing that I wouldn't understand) you'd have to point out some of the benefits of making a promise that would cause someone a considerable headache, posting that promise on your site, and then come back to look at it again when they don't feel like following through (which would be most of the time).

Not an easy sell.

Yau,

Eric is right here. I looked at your site and couldn't figure out what you're trying to achieve.

If you want visitors to opt into your list, then everything they see and do on your website should lead them in that direction.

Right now people will just keep clicking one link after another, reading one post after another...and eventually leave without taking any action.

In addition to the above...
the font size is to small for me - too hard to read
