Default Postcard Delirium ll - 04-05-2007, 07:15 AM

So we have a 4.25 x 6 card. How can I maximize it? What about my company name, should I shrink it and put it lower? Hell, I'll take it off all together if it gets me more business adding meaty text.

Basic target info for this mailing:

34-45
married
$100k+ income
home owners

I would suggest making the name smaller and making the offer much larger. If they are interested in your offer they'll find the name of the business on the card. Right now you've given to much space to something that isn't going to mean an awful lot to the prospect. They don't care about the name of your company-- they care about what your company is going to do for them.

Instead of "Want A Solution?" I would have gone with "Who Else Wants A Fast & Easy Solution?"

I would have also given the free screen cleaning a monetary value. Right now the prospect has no idea whe "freebie" is worth and consequently won't respect the free offer as much. And if this window cleaning is truly a special offer I would list somewhere what the regular price.

You could also connect the dots for them a little more-Tell them why they would want clean windows...

Why should that be important to them? Why would they care?

You're looking out for more than just their windows. You're helping them make sure their neighbors don't talk about their dirty windows... making sure their house guests don't get the wrong idea about them because the windows are filthy... helping them preserve the value of their home...

Show them that you're not just a window cleaner. You're selling something else, something much more valuable than clean windows.

I hear ya!

If I were doing letter mailings I would do that whole bit. I am using a 4.25 x 6 postcard. How would I imply that message in that format?

this is too big- "Who Else Wants A Fast & Easy Solution?" it would ruin my graphic. (which is tight)

I should have valued the screen cleaning

The name is going to shrink and fall to the bottom somewhere. Which means I get to add more meaningful text.

The entire offer now looks too small to me

For the front of the card, what do you think of this:

Dirty, Embarrassing Windows? Want a Simple Solution?

I don't know if I would hire a window cleaner because I was embarrassed about my windows...

Now if you said I was busy-- yeah I'll buy it.

Or if you said (in a nice way) that I was a lazy-- yeah I'd buy that too.

But never embarrassed because I don't have people over to the house often.

I agree with Michael. I want to spend my weekends playing golf, picnicking with the family, or anything else but washing windows.
